Meanwhile, some others faced an untimely end to their promising careers after falling victim to the hands of death. In fact, many cast members from “Jamie Foxx Show” who have died maintained a successful Hollywood profile before their demise.

In September 2021, “Jamie Foxx Show” star Anthony A.J Johnson passed away. The actor and comedian, known for his appearances in movies like “House Party,” “The Parent Hood,” “Martin,” and “Malcolm & Eddie” shook the world of comedy with his passing at 55.

During his stint on the sitcom, which ran from 1996-2001, Johnson played the role of Janine Sherman, instantly winning over viewers’ hearts.

His demise reverberated throughout the industry, with stars like Ice Cube, and DJ Pooh taking to social media to pay him tribute.

Aside from Johnson, other cast members from “The Jamie Foxx” show, albeit with less significant roles have also passed on over the years. Most of these characters appeared as guest stars or in single episodes but made a mark worth remembering.

How Did Anthony A.J Johnson Die?

Months after the death of Anthony A.J Johnson, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office revealed his cause of death.

In the report released on February 9, 2022, the department revealed that the actor of the WB sitcom died from chronic ethanol use or in a more common term, chronic drinking.

The report also clarified that the comedian died in the hospital, with no other significant health complications contributing to his demise. The medical report confirming his cause of death finally debunked wild speculations that the “Jamie Foxx Show” star died from COVID-19-related complications.

Anthony A.J Johnson’s Life And Career

Before his death, Anthony A.J Johnson was a big name in the industry, with roles in hit sitcoms like “Martins” and “Friday.” Born in May 1965 in Compton, California, the comedic actor began his pursuits from a young age, nursing his acting dreams.

He grew up the son of a stuntman and founder of the Black Stuntmen’s Association, picking up some of his earliest showbiz knowledge. Johnson shot into the limelight in the nineties, with his performance as E.Z.L in the movie, “House Party.”

He went on to play Ezal in the 1995 comedy “Friday,” which further boosted his fame. Over time, the actor landed more roles in movies like “Lethal Weapon,” “House Party 3,” “Menace II Society,” “Candy,” “I Got The Hook-Up,” and “The Players Club,” among others.

Aside from acting, Johnson sustained his career as a stand-up comedian, famously suffering a heart attack in 2009 during one of his shows.

Additionally, the icon appeared in some music videos, lending his comedic elements. All these ventures earned him a substantial net worth of up to $100,000 before his passing. Anthony Johnson left behind his wife Lexis and at least three children.

Other Cast Members From “Jamie Foxx Show” Who Died

Another actor who appeared on the show but has sadly passed away is John Wesley, who played Willie the Janitor. The TV legend, who excelled in such shows as “Fresh Prince Of Bel Air,” and “Frasier,” died in September 2019, following a long battle with multiple myeloma. He was 72.

Other deceased casts of “Jamie Foxx Show,” include Thomas Mikal Ford (who played Marcus), Helen Martin, (played Mother Superior), James Avery (Reverend), Michael Clark Duncan (an inmate), Tommy Lister Jr. (Apollo), Michael Taliferro and Buck Kartalian.

Meanwhile, other cast members went on to attain great heights, with Jamie Foxx reaping the most from the hit series and becoming the most successful cast member.
