GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has blasted Fox News once again, saying that nobody can ever trust the outlet’s reporting. This comes as no surprise to anyone, as Trump has had a very on-and-off relationship with the news network over the years. Sometimes, it seems to be his favorite news network, as he showers Fox News with praise.
However, other times, the former president makes negative comments about its reporting, just as seen in this case. Trump took to social media to blast Fox News shortly after the former Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan appeared on the network, saying that Trump is unfit for the Oval Office. “Nobody can ever trust Fox News, and I am one of them,” he said.
He continued, saying that a key reason why he would never trust the news network was that it had Paul Ryan on its Board of Directors. He also referred to the former speaker as the weak and ineffective “RINO,” which is an acronym for the slang “Republican In Name Only.” However, Trump did not stop there. He also called Ryan a total lightweight and a “failed and pathetic” former speaker of the house, who he sees as a disloyal person.
Clearly, Trump was not mincing words while bashing Ryan, and this made some people wonder what exactly triggered the rang. Trump’s reaction dates back to Ryan’s criticism of him during a Fox News airing on June 11th. There, Ryan spoke on Trump’s character and why he thought the real estate mogul was not fit to be president again.

According to Ryan, the former president has repeatedly put himself above the Constitution, proving his disregard for the law. He also blamed Trump for the losses the GOP has suffered in recent times. Ryan continued, saying that Trump cost the GOP a lot of seats, including two seats in the Senate and others in the House of Representatives.
The former speaker also noted that the main reason why the GOP was losing these seats was because Trump was nominating people who had pledged loyalty to him rather than selecting qualified candidates to go through the primaries.

It is also not surprising that the former House speaker had a lot of negative comments about the Republican presidential candidate. While Trump was in office, Ryan was the Speaker of the House but he retired midway into Trump’s term due to a lot of political disputes.

However, it is true that Trump has pushed a lot of candidates forward in recent elections who ended up losing their seats due to voters believing they were unqualified. Ryan and many other critics are therefore not wrong to believe it has cost the party greatly.
This is also not the first time that Trump has bashed someone who used to work with him after they got on Fox News. Earlier this year, he also blasted Kayleigh McEnany, his former press secretary who is now a contributor for Fox News, after she advised him to try to unite the GOP better. Again, he called her a “RINO” and said that he did not need any advice from someone like her.
