When Angelina Jolie appeared on the “Today” show to discuss her new musical, “The Outsiders,” a special visitor stood at her side in the audience. The 48-year-old actress went to the Today Plaza on Monday, May 13, with her 15-year-old daughter Vivienne.
She discussed the project with co-host Hoda Kotb. Jolie revealed that Vivienne, who volunteered to help with the production, was the one who initially connected with the work. The stunning actress said the program is about community and family.
With the assistance of 15-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, who is working as a production assistant, Jolie is developing a program called “The Outsiders.” Furthermore, she said that while it doesn’t avoid the more difficult aspects of life, they still have a lot to talk about and a lot to feel.
The Academy Award winner added that family is ultimately what sustains them. Wearing a long black coat, black shoes, and a black maxi dress with a belt, Jolie looked stylish in her go-to black ensemble.

She wore sparse gold and diamond jewelry and black-rimmed spectacles as her sole accessories. Regarding her kid, the teenager wore a blue sweatshirt, loose light-wash trousers, and a beige T-shirt for a laid-back look.
As Vivienne’s mother spoke to host Hoda Kotb on camera, she was observed shyly grinning in the audience outside Rockefeller Center. With her ex-husband Brad Pitt, Jolie is a mother to six children: the boys, Pax, 20, and Maddox, 22; the girls, Shiloh, 17, and Zahara, 18; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15.
After a decade of dating, Jolie and Pitt tied the knot in 2014. Unfortunately, Jolie’s divorce filing caused their marriage to fall apart after just two years. Jolie talked about her divorce in an interview with Vogue India in 2020. She revealed that she and their kids felt their separation was the correct decision.

Vivienne accompanied Jolie on the red carpet during the April premiere of “The Outsiders.” On the red carpet at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, the actress was seen posing with her daughter and the cast, including Justin Levine. Notably, Levine created the show’s score and co-wrote the script.
In December, Jolie discussed how she prioritizes maintaining strong relationships with her children over having a social life in Los Angeles. She said they are both her closest friends and her closest family members.
Even though they are close, the seven of them are still distinct individuals. “Our diversity as seven distinct individuals is what makes us strong,” she said. Jolie allowed her kids freedom from photographers in their youth. Additionally, she just stays behind them and lets them go places and do things.
“The Outsiders,” a Broadway production that debuted in San Diego last year, is based on the beloved 1967 coming-of-age novel of the same name by S.E. Hinton, which tells the story of a violent rivalry between two adolescent gangs that persists. Since then, it has received 12 Tony Award nominations, including one for Best Musical.

She got the Stay Gold tattoo, which is visible on her arm during the filming. Both the original book and the movie refer to this sentence.
The tattoo will always remind the actress of her time with her daughter making “The Outsiders.” Jolie is a producer, and Vivienne is an assistant. “The Outsiders” is an adaption of S.E. Hinton’s widely read novel of the same name.
