A woman, identified as Anasilvia Gomez-Zamora, 30, was arrested for allegedly throwing a red liquid onto Vice President Kamala Harris’ motorcade during a campaign visit to Phoenix.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Friday near 7th Street and Southern Avenue. Gomez-Zamora faces charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, endangerment, and resisting arrest.

According to Phoenix Police, the woman was standing on a sidewalk near where the motorcade was driving when she threw a red liquid. The liquid landed on eight Phoenix Police officers on motorcycles.

Sgt. Phil Krynsky stated, “The motor officers were able to continue the motorcade as they progressed through their route. Other officers in the area were able to locate and arrest the woman responsible.” Police confirmed that the liquid was determined to be non-hazardous.

One user commented, “I’m not a huge fan of Kamala and Biden but you know there was once a time where we could meet up for a coffee and discuss things like civilized people. We might not agree on everything and that was okay we would shake hands at the end of it and walk away with a better understanding of each other. These days there is no discussions over coffee, no attempts at understanding, no sense of unity.”

“It’s become all about what I want and if you don’t agree then you might as well be my enemy and frankly, I find that baffling. I don’t judge folks by their politics or religion but by how they treat others, you can support Donald Trump and still be a good person just as you can support Joe Biden and be a good person.”

“I can assure you many will try to argue otherwise but that is just blind partisanship talking of people who believe there can be no compromise or middle ground on any issue. I hope this woman receives the same treatment she gives others, maybe then she’ll change her outlook on things.”

Another added, “What is wrong with people that they cannot be Respectful? Whether you care for a political individual or not such behavior is totally uncalled for. What is lacking in this country is Respect for others. Right now, I am not proud of certain individuals who act as such and plus it gives our country a very bad look. These individuals need to grow up and act like adults.”
