Over the eight seasons of the HBO series “Game of Thrones,“ Harington played the role of Jon Snow. It was during the filming that he met his wife and mother of his children, Rose Leslie.

Despite his history with the popular show, Harington believes his children will never see his and Leslie’s real-life love story come to life on screen.

Why Does Kit Harington Think His Kids Won’t Like Game of Thrones

On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, Kit Harington said he doesn’t believe his kids will want to watch “Game of Thrones.” E! News interviewed Harington during the season three premiere of “Industry.”

The “Game of Thrones” star said, “I absolutely guarantee you they’ll probably never want to see that show.” Harington feels his kids will be deeply uncomfortable witnessing the onscreen romance between himself and Leslie.

Additionally, Kit Harington said that he foresees his kids having a type of embarrassing sadness surrounding his acting career. He said, “I think it’s going to be one of those sadnesses that I’ll be like, ‘Hey, look at this thing I was in 20 years ago.’ And they’ll be like, ‘Dad, no.’”

Are Kit Harington and Rose Leslie Still Married?

Yes, they are. Kit Harington and Rose Leslie started dating while filming the second season of “Game of Thrones.” Harington and Leslie played love interests to each other’s characters, Ygritte and Jon Snow.

Subsequently, on September 27, 2017, the celebrity couple announced their engagement in The Times’ “Forthcoming Marriages” column. On June 23, 2018, Harington and Leslie got married at Aberdeenshire, Scotland’s Rayne Parish Church.

According to reports, Kit Harington is related to King Charles II of England, his eight-time great-grandfather. From 1660 to 1685, Charles II ruled England, Scotland, and Ireland, and he also ruled Scotland from 1649 to 1651. 

Actors Dacre Montgomery and Rose Leslie are further distant relatives of Harington, having shared ancestry with Charles II. There is more to Harington’s royal ancestry than that. George Legge, his four-time great-grandfather, served as the Royal Household’s Lord Chamberlain from 1804 until 1810.
