Gregory Peck portrayed adored father Atticus Finch in “To Kill a Mockingbird,” and his children believe the Oscar-winning actor was fairly accurate in real life. The “Cape Fear” actor, who died in June 2003 at age 87, had five children.
He became a father for the first time in 1944 when his son Jonathan was born, and he shared him with his then-wife Greta Kukkonen. The couple had two more children together, sons Stephen in 1946 and Carey in 1949, before splitting in January 1953 and divorcing in 1954, according to the San Bernardino County Sun.
Gregory married French journalist Veronique Peck in 1955, and they had two children: son Anthony in 1956 and daughter Cecilia in 1958. Here’s everything you should know about Gregory Peck’s five children: Jonathan, Stephen, Carey, Anthony, and Cecilia.

Who are Gregory Peck’s children?
Jonathan Peck
Gregory and his wife, Greta Kukkonen, had their first son, Jonathan, in 1944. However, when he was about 8 years old, the couple separated. According to the Detroit Free Press, Gregory Peck’s oldest kid was a high school track standout. He was also ambitious, having spent two years in Tanzania and six years in the Marine Corps Reserve.
After graduating from Occidental College, Jonathan started his media career at KNX Los Angeles. He spent three years there before joining KCOY-TV as a local television correspondent in Santa Barbara, California. According to The New York Times, he died by suicide on June 26, 1975, at the age of thirty.
After his son passed away, Gregory Peck reportedly took two years off from acting. The actor said he was really sorry he couldn’t be there for Jonathan’s final days. In 1987, the “Roman Holiday” star also talked about the tragedy, mentioning his son’s problems with arteriosclerosis, overwork, and a breakup.
Stephen Peck, 78
On August 16, 1946, Gregory and Kukkonen welcomed Stephen, their second son. Stephen attended Northwestern University to study cinema, but after his sophomore year, he received a draft notice that changed his life.
However, his experience in the war had a profound impact on him, so he focused on directing and co-producing a number of films about the subject, such as “Far from Home” (1991) and “Heart of the Warrior” (1990).
Additionally, Stephen became interested in veteran matters, working at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center as an outreach worker. Stephen is a father as well. He welcomed actor Ethan Peck with his then-wife Francine Matarazzo on March 2, 1986. However, Kristine Kidd is his current wife.

Carey Paul Peck, 75
On June 17, 1949, Gregory and Kukkonen welcomed Carey Paul, their third son. According to The Washington Post, he was a member of the Peace Corps and attended Georgetown University as a young man.
Carey later entered politics and worked on education-related issues in Claiborne Pell’s senate office. With his then-wife Cathy by his side, he entered his first U.S. congressional contest in 1978. The former couple welcomed Marisa Peck before parting ways.
After failing his second attempt at running for Congress, Carey began working as a bank officer. Gregory Peck’s website states that Carey specializes in after-school activities and works for the Los Angeles Unified School District as a principal analyst and grant administrator.
Anthony “Tony” Peck, 68
On October 24, 1956, Gregory and Veronique Peck, his second wife, welcomed their first child, a son named Anthony “Tony.” Anthony was exposed to the arts because of his father’s well-known connections while growing up in California. After Anthony reached the appropriate age, he attended boarding school, Amherst College, and The Juilliard School.
Anthony developed an interest in the film industry after spending his summers working on set with his father, including a time spent in Rome. With the birth of his son Zack Peck in 1991, Anthony became a parent for the first time. He shares the child with his ex-wife, Model Cheryl Tiegs. Anthony later got married again, this time to Paula.

Cecilia Peck, 66
On May 1, 1958, Gregory Peck and Veronique welcomed Cecilia, their only daughter. The youngest Peck, like Anthony, spent a lot of her childhood on her father’s movie sets, including “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Cecilia claimed she fell out with her father as a “rebellious teenager.”
But in her mid-twenties, they became considerably closer, sharing a passion for her chosen acting career. Gregory advised her to “really learn” the theater business at Princeton, and Cecilia took his counsel to heart, graduating from the school in 1980.
She starred in her first film, “My Best Friend Is a Vampire”, seven years later. Following that, Cecilia portrayed Gregory’s daughter on screen in “Wall Street’ (1987) and “The Portrait” (1993).
