Wendy’s is bringing back childhood memories with their newest Frosty offering. The fast food giant is rolling out their Orange Dreamsicle Frosty, inspired by the classic popsicle.
This sweet addition will debut on Tuesday, March 19, temporarily replacing the Vanilla Frosty while the beloved chocolate flavor remains on the menu. The limited-time treat combines the nostalgic taste of sweet oranges with the creamy vanilla Frosty, creating a “dreamy orange cream experience.”
Ahead of the launch, a spokesperson for Wendy’s told Nation’s Restaurant News, “The Orange Dreamsicle Frosty is a unique spin on a familiar flavor, packing a spoonful of sweet orange notes combined with the classic, smooth vanilla Frosty for a dreamy orange cream experience.”
The spokesperson added, “The eye-catching orange color of this delectable treat was inspired by the spring season.”

Recalling the idea behind the Orange Dreamsicle Frosty, John Li, Wendy’s Global VP of Culinary Innovation, explained, “When you think of citrus, people think of summer, but it’s actually right now: late winter and spring. We wanted to use that as part of the inspiration.”
Li further told the outlet, “I normally don’t do this. I’ll usually bring in food props, but I brought in something else. This is actually the cologne I wear. Tangerine Boy is a good example because they know that citrus should be celebrated as a part of spring. We take those same elements people seek and put them into food form.”

“The vibrant orange hue of this delightful treat was inspired by the spring season, and its taste matches its appearance perfectly,” the chain stated in a press release.
With the introduction of the Orange Dreamsicle Frosty on the first spring days, Wendy’s completes its seasonal Frosty lineup. Previously, the chain launched the Strawberry Frosty for summer, the Pumpkin Spice Frosty for fall, and the Peppermint Frosty for winter.
In a recent earnings call, Wendy’s announced plans to implement dynamic pricing as early as next year. CEO Kirk Tanner explained that prices would adjust based on time, location, and demand. This change would also bring updates like digital menu boards reflecting real-time prices and menu offers tailored to different times of the day.

However, the company clarified that it is not adopting “surge-pricing” practices, which are often seen in ticket sales and ride-sharing apps.
“We intend to use these menu boards to offer more flexibility in showcasing featured items. Some media reports have misconstrued this as a plan to hike prices during peak hours at our restaurants,” Wendy’s stated in an email to USA TODAY on February 27.
“We have no intention of doing so and will not raise prices when our customers are most frequenting our establishments.”
