As we all know, Wayne Brady is used to surprises due to his experience as a performer who enjoys improvising. However, when the news that his ex-girlfriend was pregnant with his son came to him, it took him by surprise.

In a recent interview at the premiere of his new freeform show Wayne Brady: The Family Remix, Brady discussed pregnancy. Brady said that he was surprised when he found out that his ex-girlfriend, Tina, was pregnant. Tina and Brady had an on-and-off relationship for the better part of 2021, with the news of Tina’s pregnancy coming in 2022.
Brady said that when Tina originally informed him of it, he asked an idiotic question many men have asked since the beginning of time: “How?” Tina had informed Brady that she was pregnant weeks after they returned from Brady’s grandmother’s funeral in the Virgin Islands. Subsequently, in 2023, Brady’s son, Val Henry, was born.

However, Brady has declared his intention to love Val just as he loves and values his daughter, Maile Brady. 21-year-old Maile is Brady’s daughter with his ex-wife and business partner, Mandie Taketa.

Brady said he does not want Val to grow up thinking that he does not want him or is embarrassed by him. He said, “Because I want him, in his way, to know that I love him as much as I love Maile, who is of me and that I had a part in creating,” he continues. “So I had to do that work.”
Reacting to the news that she was becoming a sister again, Maile said she had mixed feelings, as it was unexpected in many ways. Maile said that she was 21 and that it was not her baby, so she had no stake in it. However, Maile said she sees this as a chance for Brady, Taketa, and Jason Fordham, Taketa’s partner, to grow. Maile sees this as a chance for everyone to mature and understand each other’s dynamics.

After Brady and Taketa’s divorce in 2008, Brady, Maile, Taketa, and her 40-year-old husband, Hu Fordham, have bonded as a blended family. Taketa and Fordham began dating in 2009, while he was a backup dancer to Bray. Fordham and Taketa are the parents of two-year-old Sundance. The group has come to refer to themselves as the “Core Four” and is very close.

Taketa’s partner, Fordham has promised to assist Brady in taking care of Val. Fordham said, “I’m in it with Sundance, you know what I mean?” “You go back to the diapers and all that stuff. That’s what came to mind. I’m like, ‘Okay, let’s save this stuff.” “Sundance outgrew it, but little one’s on the way.’ And then I start kind of thinking like that. ‘Okay, we got this stroller.’ That kind of thing.”

Born on June 2, 1972, Wayne Alphonso Brady is an American comedian, actor, singer, and television personality. Brady frequently appears in the American adaptation of the stand-up comedy television program Whose Line Is It Anyway? Additionally, Brandy has hosted Let Us Make a Deal since it relaunched in 2009. He was the original host of Fox’s Do Not Forget the Lyrics! and the daytime discussion show The Wayne Brady Show.
Brady also starred as James Stinson in the American TV series How I Met Your Mother and as Simon, a drag queen named Lola. He also played in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Kinky Boots, which ran from November 2015 to March 2016.
Brady has won five Emmys—three in 2003, one for “Whose Line?” and another two for “The Wayne Brady Show.” He also won another two for Let’s Make a Deal. Is Wayne Brady Married?
Brady has been married twice. He married Diana Lasso on December 31, 1993. They divorced on September 21, 1995. On April 3, 1999, he married dancer Mandie Taketa. He and Taketa have one child, Maile, born on February 3, 2003. Brady and Taketa separated on April 5, 2006, and Taketa filed for divorce on July 2, 2007. They have remained close friends and co-parents.
Brady experienced severe depression. In 2014, he experienced a mental breakdown on his 42nd birthday and subsequently acknowledged Taketa’s assistance in his recovery. Brady came out as pansexual in August 2023.
