Skai Jackson’s boyfriend and baby daddy, Deondre Burgin, got arrested, yet again, last week. Yes, Burgin is back in jail for the second time in less than six months and just three months after the birth of his son with Skai Jackson.
According to Kenton County Jail records, the 20-year-old was arrested around 2 p.m. on April 17 in Kentucky due to an outstanding warrant. Fans have been critical of Skai Jackson’s choice of partner and the relationship with the father of her child since the very beginning.
Unfortunately, their relationship hasn’t been all smooth sailing, and with this news stirring, the former Disney star is yet to comment on her boyfriend’s legal issues.
Who Is Skai Jackson’s Boyfriend?
Skai Jackson first hard-launched her relationship in December 2023 in a since-deleted video where she hinted that she had a boyfriend. Her boyfriend and baby daddy is Deondre Burgin. He is 6.5 inches tall, has red hair, and goes by the name Yerkky Yerkky on social media.
Burgin is a content creator with a Facebook public account of over 20,000 followers. His social media footprint seems to be limited, but he reposted pictures of Skai and her baby bump with a love heart emoji when she was pregnant. Besides his series of arrests, there really isn’t much about him on his socials.

Why Was Skai Jackson’s Boyfriend Arrested?
Deondre Burgin, Skai Jackson’s boyfriend, was arrested by the Taylor Mill Police Department, who confirmed that he was taken into custody after one of their officers spotted him at a local gas station in Kentucky and recognized him from the National Crime Information Center database.
According to TMZ, authorities in Hamilton County, Ohio, had issued an outstanding warrant for his arrest due to a previous offense. Authorities arrested him because he failed to display a license plate on his vehicle in March and also failed to appear in court. As a result, this is his second arrest in just six months.
The first time police arrested Burgin was back in November last year. Then, it was for violating his parole from an earlier theft and weapon possession case as a juvenile at the Hamilton County Jail. During the arrest, he reportedly fell while fleeing from officers when they approached him.
According to the police report, he cut his left cheek in the encounter, after which police placed him in handcuffs and took him into custody in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was then cited for misdemeanor obstruction of official business and served 90 days in jail.
When Did Skai Jackson Welcome a Baby With Her Boyfriend?
In January 2025, 23-year-old Skai Jackson welcomed a baby boy named Kasai with her boyfriend, Burgin. Jackson revealed the exciting news through an Instagram post she shared on January 26. Unfortunately, Burgin missed his baby’s birth because he was in jail at the time of the milestone.
A month after becoming a first-time mom, Jackson gushed about how amazing motherhood has been for her and how committed she is to being the best parent and role model she can be.
“I love being a new mom. It’s just so exciting. So exciting,” she said at the 56th NAACP Image Awards Creative Honors. “I’m here tonight; I’m already missing my baby. But it’s been a great month with my new little one.”

Has Skai Jackson Ever Been Arrested?
Yes. On August 9, 2024, police arrested Skai Jackson for allegedly pushing her boyfriend after they got into an argument. This incident happened at the theme park adjacent to the Universal CityWalk dining and shopping district.
“Based on the initial investigation, it was determined that Jackson was the primary aggressor and was arrested for misdemeanor spousal battery,” police said. Her bail was set for $20,000, and she was cited and released a few hours later. Jackson and Burgin both denied getting physical during the incident. She claimed that they were happily engaged and were expecting a baby together.
Then, in September, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office reportedly dropped the case against her because Jackson had no criminal history. Plus, the alleged victim, Burgin, didn’t have any injuries and had also not been cooperating with prosecutors.
