Richardson was once in a relationship with Janeek Brown, who has enjoyed her share of athlеtic achiеvеmеnts. Brown is a 100m hurdlеr and has showcased her abilities on various occasions. 

One of the reasons her relationship with Richardson ended was because it turned out to be abusive. The pair confessed this and chose to work on themselves respectively. Brown openly admitted that she was once abusive, too, but was trying her best to move on from there. 

Sha’Carri Richardson shared on social media, “I was in a relationship with a Jamaican athlete that never cared about me from jumping. I was abused and stolen from, yet protected her from the judgment of her country and family while they dragged me into it.”

Her relationship with Richardson has suffered, but they are working to ensure they learn their lessons.

Sha’Carri Richardson was born in Dallas and developed a passion for running at a young age. She was a standout athlete at Carter High School and even won the NCAA championship in 2019 in a college record of 10.75 seconds during her first year at LSU.

Her debut season saw her win many awards, including SEC Freshman, the Track Athlete of the Year award, and the 2019 Bowerman trophy, the top collegiate track and field prize.  

She revealed on social media in June 2019 that she planned to leave LSU to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a top athlete like Steph Curry, Serena Williams, and Usain Bolt.
