For the first time since her partner’s passing, Sandra Bullock has made her first public appearance. On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, Bullock attended a Beyond Fest special showing of “Speed” at American Cinematheque in Los Angeles to mark its 30th anniversary.
In August 2023, Bullock’s partner, Bryan Randall, passed away after battling ALS for three years. Among the guests were co-star “Keanu Reeves, and director Jan de Bont. During the Q&A session onstage, Reeves and De Bont reminisced about making the 1994 smash hit picture and its difficult stunts.

On August 5, 2023, Bryan Randall died following a three-year year battle with ALS. Although Bryan Randall was initially diagnosed with ALS in 2020, he decided to keep his journey with ALS private. According to family members, Randall had died peacefully surrounded by family.
A statement released by Randall’s loved ones said, “We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours.”
Additionally, the family requested that they be granted privacy to grieve and say goodbye to Randall.
How Did Bryan Randall and Sandra Bullock Meet?
Bryan Randall met Sandra Bullock in 2015 while he was at work. In a 2021 edition of “Red Table Talk,” she revealed that Randall had been invited to take pictures of her first kid’s birthday celebration.
The “Oceans Eight” actress continued that after they began dating, Randall had found it difficult to adjust. This was partially the fault of Bullock, who had to decide to adopt her second child, daughter Laila.
She recalled how she had recently met Randall and was already in the process of adopting Laila in 2015. Bullock claimed that although he was thrilled to learn that she was adopting another child, he was also terrified.
