Why Did Ringo Starr Quit the Beatles?
For fifty years, Paul McCartney was known as the man who split The Beatles. In April 1970, McCartney revealed his debut solo album release date, confirming to the world that the Beatles were over. However, despite McCartney’s claims that it was John Lennon who originally quit the group, history still remembers him as the group breaker.
During an interview for the Anthology documentary, Ringo Starr said, “I felt I wasn’t playing great, and I also felt that the other three were really happy, and I was an outsider.” He added, “There was no magic, and the relationships were terrible.”
During the “White Album” recording in August 1968, Starr left Abbey Road for two weeks due to dissatisfaction with his role in The Beatles. However, Starr returned when the disagreement was settled and the session resumed.
Do Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr Still Talk?
In December 2021, Starr released “Here’s to the Nights,” a star-studded single that reunited him virtually with his former bandmate, McCartney. Speaking with The Irish News, Starr said, “We’re still pals. We don’t hang out with each other a lot.”
Starr continued, “I love that, getting up with him. We did it at the O2 Arena in England in 2018.” Besides being cordial, the two former bandmates still work together.

Who Caused the Beatles To Break Up?
After years of nonstop touring, The Beatles eventually quit doing live performances in 1966. The goal was to concentrate on recording, and the outcomes were significant. However, in 1967, the band had a tough time with the death of their manager, Brian Epstein.
When Epstein died, the Beatles lost a vibrant figure who cared for their finances and, more importantly, their egos. The problem between bandmates became more pronounced following the band’s search for a replacement for Epstein.
While the other Beatles wanted the Rolling Stones’ manager, Allen Klein, McCartney chose his soon-to-be wife Linda’s father. Several factors contributed to The Beatles’ dissolution, including financial difficulties, Brian Epstein’s passing, conflicting creative ideas, and growing artistic ambitions.
An important factor was the dissolution of the Lennon-McCartney songwriting collaboration. However, after John Lennon left, The Beatles finally broke up. According to the terms of The Beatles ‘ contract with Allen Klein, all profits from each member’s individual efforts were to go into the Apple “pot.”
The Beatles’ existence as a group officially ended on December 29, 1974. Consequently, Starr, Harrison, Lennon, and McCartney became solo artists. Subsequently, after leaving the group, Starr met his wife, Barbara Bach, and the couple tied the knot on April 27, 1981.
