To grieve the loss of her father, J.J. Suddeth, country music artist Lauren Alaina postponed a few performances. Using social media, the former “American Idol” contestant announced the news on Wednesday, sharing that she “lost my daddy last night, and I have no words yet.” 

“I want to let y’all know that I’m not able to play the three shows I had scheduled for this weekend in Savannah, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte as I am going home to be with my family,” Alaina stated. “Thank you for your prayers and understanding.” The singer ended the note with the term “Pinky,” which had special value for her and that she had discussed in her Grand Ole Opry induction speech in February 2022.

Lauren Alaina’s Biography 

American singer-songwriter Lauren Alaina Kristine Suddeth was born in Rossville, Georgia, on November 8, 1994. She finished in second place during the tenth season of American Idol.

October 11, 2011 saw the release of Wildflower, her debut studio album. January 27, 2017, saw the release of her second album, Road Less Travelled. Later, Alaina’s album title single became her first-ever number-one on the Country Airplay list.

Later in the year, she achieved her second number one when, alongside her friend and former classmate Kane Brown, they concurrently topped five Billboard charts with their duet “What Ifs”. Apart from her collaboration with Brown, Alaina gained popularity as a duet vocalist during the following few years, showcasing her talents on hit songs with Hardy, Dustin Lynch, and Devin Dawson.

So, when he comes to see me at my shows, he’ll stand out in the crowd and hold up his pinky, and that’s his way of telling me that he loves me,” Alaina said, as reported by USA Today.

“Ever since my daddy was a child, it was his dream to play the banjo at the Grand Ole Opry,” Lauren Alaina said at her induction. “So, when I was a girl, of course, I learned about this Disney World of country music, a magical place called the Grand Ole Opry, where all of country music’s most successful artists played.”

Lauren Alaina had several shows scheduled, including performances in Savannah, Georgia, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Charlotte, at the Carowinds Summer Festival Series.

What Alaina Likes About Her Husband 

Alaina said that despite all the many qualities she adores in her spouse, his everydayness has been a welcome change from her hectic, always-on lifestyle. Plus, she thought it was kind of cute that Arnold didn’t know she was famous until they started dating. 

The couple wed in a “big, loud” ceremony in downtown Nashville in February 2024. After exchanging customized vows, Alaina and Arnold strolled out of the ceremony carrying their dogs, and they celebrated with international cuisine.
