Anne Hathaway, the well-known actress from “The Princess Diaries” and “The Devil Wears Prada,” just commemorated being five years sober, a noteworthy achievement. In an interview with The New York Times, Hathaway discussed her choice to give up alcohol and her journey.
The 41-year-old Hathaway revealed that while she doesn’t take her sobriety too seriously, she still considers it to be a major accomplishment. “Being clean for more than five years is only one of many important life milestones,” she underlined.
Anne Hathaway has been in such a happy marriage since 2012 when she married businessman and occasional actor Adam Shulman. Anne said she wouldn’t have kicked the booze without the impetus of their two sons, whom they both tend to keep at arm’s length from the public.
She admitted to dating a person with a heroin addiction in her youth despite her initial reluctance. However, her current happily married demeanor is a far, far better prospect than what came before.

Hathaway clarified to Modern Luxury in 2019 that she decided not to give up alcohol because she had a drinking issue. Instead, it was about her feelings after drinking. She became aware that it wasn’t worth it after suffering days-long hangovers.
Hathaway said she would only start drinking again when she got to a stage in her life with enough space for hangovers. But it won’t happen until her kid has moved out of the house.
The actress emphasized that life is better when there is no alcohol involved. She discovered that being sober prevented her from languishing and got rid of hangovers. Hathaway thinks that not everyone needs to practice moderation, as it was wallowing fuel for her.

She also said that she dislikes moping. After two drinks, everyone should feel like they’ve had a few drinks without the hangover, matching everyone else.
She also hinted that a third part of “The Princess Diaries” may yet happen during the extensive conversation. When asked about what was cooking with Princess Diaries, she simply answered, “Yep,” Hathaway answered.
Hathaway previously stated that the movies were in her past and that a third film was not an option.
Prime Video will debut Hathaway’s latest film, “The Idea of You,” on May 2. In the role, she portrays Solène, a divorced mother who eventually develops feelings for a well-known, much younger guy.

She talked about how wanting to stay clean had been prompted by her desire to extend her family with her husband, Adam Shulman, during an appearance on the now-canceled Ellen DeGeneres Show in January 2019.
Hathaway welcomes turning forty and her fifth anniversary. Since life is unpredictable, she refuses to categorize it as “middle age.” She urges others to discover what works best for them because her sober journey has been a unique one.
