While Donald Trump has reiterated his support for White House Speaker Mike Johnson, the same does not ring true for the former President’s allies. Trump’s longtime ally, Steve Bannon, is calling out Republicans, including Johnson, for not “supporting” the former President enough. He branded Johnson a “disgusting, revolting loser.”

Bannon, a former White House chief strategist and right-wing media personality, recently amplified his attacks on the White House Speaker. He called Johnson out for forcing the hand of Republicans into supporting a $95 billion aid package to Ukraine, Israel, and other U.S. allies.

Before Bannon’s continued attacks, Johnson faced backlash from MAGA Republicans for overseeing the passage of the military aid. Controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene threatened to oust Johnson for supporting a bill Trump opposed.

However, as earlier stated, Trump has doubled down on his support for Johnson. The presumptive Republican presidential candidate said the Speaker is “a very good person” and noted he is “trying very hard.” On Sunday, April 28, 2024, Bannon blasted Johnson on his “War Room” podcast. He accused Johnson of not helping Trump in his legal battles.

Furthermore, Steve Bannon condemned Johnson for not releasing a report about a “criminal conspiracy investigation” that could have helped Trump. Notably, Trump is now on trial in a New York hush-money case, the first criminal trial involving a former U.S. President. “Why was this report not dropped on the eve of the trial?” Bannon fumed on the podcast.

He condemned Johnson for holding on to a 300-page report he had. “You had this… It was done,” Bannon said. The former White House chief strategist also questioned why Johnson didn’t release the report on the eve of Trump’s New York trial.

While calling the White House Speaker out, Bannon hinted at a potential divide between Republicans. He also noted that Democrats are organized and work together. As a result, Bannon blasted Johnson, accusing him of suppressing the document.

Furthermore, he claimed that Republicans couldn’t challenge the trial from the initial stages because of that. Before going all out on Mike Johnson on Sunday, Bannon had attacked Republicans on his podcast. He questioned their motives and accused them of secretly wanting Trump to lose to Joe Biden in the upcoming election.

He blamed Rep. Jim Jordan and questioned him for his inactivity in Trump’s Georgia case. Bannon accused the Rep of not investigating Fani Willis, Fulton County DA overseeing Trump’s election interference case, despite the allegations levied against her.

Furthermore, Bannon blasted Rep. Jordan for not investigating Letitia James, the New York Attorney General. For context, Fani Willis had to fire her prosecutor after a lengthy investigation into their shady relationship. On the other hand, Letitia James brought a civil fraud case against Trump, accusing him of overvaluing his estate.

As a result, Trump owes over $454 million. Bannon blasted the Republican Rep for not investigating the attorneys from both states. “Why have hearings not gone on? Why have they not broken these things up? You know why?” he asked. “Because they don’t really have Trump’s back.”

During his podcast, the former White House Chief strategist said Johnson and Jordan want “MAGA to go away.” He reiterated that they’re not true Trump allies as they want the former President to face defeat in the November elections. “Yes, yes, I know I said the quiet part out loud,” he added.
