President Donald Trump has responded following the midair collision that resulted in the death of 67 people. Despite President Trump’s outrage and accusations, an investigation into the crash has been opened, although it is still in its early phases. When asked what proof he had to support his accusations against the Biden and Obama administrations, Trump said, “I have common sense, OK? Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t.”

After his statement blaming the Democrats, Trump announced that there were no survivors, claiming that diversity programs resulted in inadequate aviation regulations. Trump said, “We must have only the highest standards for those who work in our aviation system.”

He continued, “I changed the Obama standards from very mediocre at best to extraordinary; you remember that. Only the highest aptitude, the highest intellect, and psychologically superior people were allowed to qualify for air traffic controllers.”

In agreement with Trump’s statement were Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Vice President JD Vance. Trump’s recent appearance will mark the first time the president has spoken to the country in the White House briefing room since he came back to power.

Trump went on to describe the crash as a moment of agony for the country before transitioning to a familiar script from his first term in office.

What Caused the American Airlines Crash?

Despite President Trump’s statement accusing the Democrats, the reason for the American Airlines crash remains largely unknown. However, an investigation into the crash has been launched, although it is still in its early phases.

On the night of Wednesday, January 29, 2024, American Eagle Flight 5342 and an Army helicopter collided midair, exploding in flames and crashing into the Potomac River. The crash, which resulted in the death of 67 persons, leaving no survivors, was the first significant deadly commercial airline disaster in 16 years.

According to officials, the airplane was descending normally in crowded airspace over the nation’s capital, communicating with air traffic control. Following the disaster, which left no survivors, federal investigators have begun a protracted quest for answers.

According to aviation experts, a variety of factors, including technology and human error, may have led to the fatal accident. The expert further stated that these errors might have caused the multilayered collision prevention systems to malfunction.

According to Kenneth Byrnes, the chairman of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s flight training department, “Unfortunately, everything came together for this accident to occur.” In addition to the Army and the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board is spearheading the inquiry.

The detailed procedure includes collecting evidence, reviewing data, speaking with air traffic controllers, and conducting interviews. The NTSB is the sole authority for crash explanations, with investigations typically lasting a year or more.
