When the “Power” series started in 2014, it was quick to gather faithful fans and supporters. However, ten years after its premiere, lead actor Omari Hardwick has expressed frustration about how his character’s story ended. Consequently, showrunner and producer 50 Cent was not too happy about Hardwick’s comments.
Omari Hardwick Statement
In July 2024, the Tribeca Film Festival had a panel discussion in which actor Hardwick was among them. During the Q&A session, despite the numerous questions directed at Hardwick, he didn’t shy away from answering them. When discussing the popular crime series “Power,” Hardwick was quick to express his disappointment.
Hardwick said: “I’m with you in the sense that the way the story was sold and told to me is not befitting of the way it ended, guys. So y’all have every right to be like, ‘It didn’t end right.” Hardwick added that the show did not honor its fans enough. Hardwick argued that the showrunner should remember to fulfill the story’s original concept for fans.
50 Cent’s Response
Reacting to Hardwick’s statement, the Power Universe showrunner and popular rapper 50 Cent went online to express his disappointment at Hardwick’s criticism. 50 Cent took to X, describing Hardwick as a strange bird. 50 Cent continued by asking what exactly was Hardwick’s point before saying that all he has ever done is look for him.
