The American boy band NSYNC kept fans entertained with their hit sounds in the 90s and early 2000s. However, it has been decades since they dropped any single. While many fans have been wondering where they went, here is what the band members have been up to.
NSYNC was one of the biggest boy bands that rocked the music industry in the ’90s and early 2000s. The American boy band was created by Chris Kirkpatrick. And it consisted of five amazing singers Kirkpatrick, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass.
Fans couldn’t get enough of the band members’ incredible vocals, performances, and stunning looks. But it has been years since the group made any public concerts. What happened to the famous group?
Inside The Career Of The NSYNC Boy Band
NSYNC sure got the planet buzzing with different hit tracks, just like the New Kids On The Block. Their first self-titled album was successfully released to European countries in 1997. Their successful album later landed in the U.S. market with the single “I Want You Back.”
After highly publicized legal battles with the band’s former manager and record label, NSYNC released a second album titled “No Strings Attached.” The second album broke records selling over one million copies in one day.
Some of their hit songs include “Bye Bye Bye,” “It’s Gonna Be Me,” “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays,” and “This I Promise You.” But, just as fans fell in love with the group, hearts were broken in 2002. This was when the band decided they would no longer perform together.
However, since their last appearance as a band, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, and Chris Kirkpatrick have each built remarkable careers outside NSYNC.
JC Chasez
After performing as one of the famous groups’ lead vocalists, JC Chasez, formerly featured on the “Mickey Mouse Club” in the ’80s, launched his own solo career. His album “Schizophrenic” was well-received by all NSYNC fans.
But he didn’t make more appearances and instead settled as a writer and producer for other artists. Away from the music industry, Chasez also worked on America’s Best Dance Crew from 2008 until 2012.
Joey Fatone
Joey Fatone was famous for his rather comical personality and astounding dance moves. However, after NSYNC’s split, he decided to explore other aspects of show business, becoming a TV personality and actor.
The former band member has made appearances in movies including “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” in 2002 and “Dead 7” in 2016. He also hosted a variety of TV shows, as “The Singing Bee” and “Celebrity Circus.”
Lance Bass
Lance Bass gave up on pop music when NSYNC ended and took to acting. Although he has a pretty successful acting career, he mostly appears as a television and radio personality.
Since coming third on the seventh season of “Dancing with the Stars” in 2008, Bass has launched a successful radio show and competed with his mom on the reality TV cooking show, “My Kitchen Rules.” He also hosted a reality TV dating show.
Tina Burner
When the boy band was the rave of the moment, there were speculations that famous drag queen Tina Burner was in NSYNC. While Burner, real name Kristian Seeber, was definitely part of a band, she was not an NSYNC singer; she was a member of the 5th Ring music group.
Justin Timberlake
It is safe to say Justin Timberlake became top of the headlines and in the spotlight among other NSYNC members. His first solo album, “Justified,” which debuted in 2002, earned him his first 2 Grammy Awards.
His hit singles “SexyBack,” “Five Hundred Miles,” and “This I Promise You” were top of the playlist as fans couldn’t get over his vocals. Although Timberlake became established in the music industry, he explored his acting talent.
He has starred in different comedies and dramas, including “Bad Teacher,” “Friends with Benefits,” and “The Social Network.”
Chris Kirkpatrick
Amongst the five band members, Chris Kirkpatrick has remained well away from the spotlight, but he continued to maintain his interest in music. His appearances on CMT’s “Gone Country,” and VH1’s “Mission Man” Band allowed him to show off his musical talents.
Ex-band Members In Recent Times
The NSYNC boys have grown out of their teenage years with family and successful careers to show off. The following sees the former band members’ lives and social media activities after several years.
Bass is married to Michael Turchin, and the couple has been quite open about their failed attempt to expand their family. Once during an interview, the now 42-year-old singer revealed that he and his husband had lost several egg donors but remained relatively optimistic about having a child.
Timberlake, on the other hand, married actress Jessica Biel in 2012, and they welcomed a son together in 2015. Although the celebrity couple has kept their son away from paparazzi, Silas Randall Timberlake has made few face-off appearances on social media with his dad.
Fatone married his high school sweetheart Kelly Baldwin in 2004. They remained a married couple for 15 years and had two daughters before filing for divorce in 2019.
Although Fatone’s divorce arrangements from Baldwin came out in 2019, it appeared that the star and his wife had been living separate lives for years. He confirmed that he had been dating Izabel Araujo since October 2014 and posted a photo of Araujo on Valentine’s Day, 2020.
Kirkpatrick also tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Karly Skladany in November 2013, and the couple has one son together, Nash, who is his mirror image. He shared a photo of himself as a young child next to a picture of his son, as he showed off their striking resemblance on social media.
JC Sanchez is the only NSYNC member who has never been married. But he has been in a long-term relationship with his girlfriend Jennifer HuYoung for more than six years. He posted a snapshot of his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day, 2019.
Although it has been years since anyone saw the NSYNC members together, they reunited over a video call in May 2020 to celebrate Bass’s 41st birthday. Timberlake was the only member missing from the reunion.
