Media Matters for America (MMfA) is in a legal battle with billionaire tycoon Elon Musk and the Texas government.
The non-profit organization that identifies as a media watchdog might be in their biggest controversy yet. On December 12th, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey sat in an interview with Fox News to discuss this matter.
Stuart Varney, the show’s host, began the interview by briefly explaining the matter at hand. He said, “Media Matters is a left-wing non-profit group that goes after conservative media. They claim major ads were popping up on X (formerly Twitter) next to anti-Semitic content.” Addressing the attorney general, he said, “Your honor, you’re going after Media Matters. Spell out exactly what they did wrong.”

Paxton replied, “Well, I believe The right to free speech is the foundation of this republic, and we are going to fight against the radical progressive tyrants, who would lie, cheat, and steal to take that freedom away from Americans. We are not going to let that happen. The allegation here is that media matters defrauded Missourians in a scheme to take the money and convert it into a manipulation of the marketplace and attack on this last platform dedicated to free speech in America. So, we are launching an investigation.
In addition, he said, “We are going to obtain documents and get to the bottom of it. Root it out and apply state statutes to hold wrongdoers accountable to protect Missourians and our constitutional rights.” Before this interview, Billionaire mogul Elon Musk also spoke on this matter.

He said, “Media Matters is an evil propaganda machine. I just generally am against evil propaganda machines, so we are suing them in every country it operates. And we will pursue not just the organization but anyone found in that organization. I want to be clear about that. Anyone funding that organization, we will pursue them. Media Matters is an evil propaganda. They can go to hell. I hope they do.”
Undoubtedly, that was a clear message, and Stuart asked, “Mr attorney general. Do you believe Media Matters is an evil propaganda machine? Would you go that far?” “Oh, absolutely,” Bailey responded. Look, the Media Matters is built on lies. This is a radical progressive group masquerading as a news organization.”

“But, I would also point out that the allegation here is that they lied when they took money from everyday Americans, including Missourians. And then, use it for different advertisers in an attack on the last platform, dedicated to free speech, but manipulation of a code when they change the algorithm to emphasize controversial speech. Let’s think about that for a moment,” he added.
According to Bailey, they aim to expose the lies and fraudulent ways of Media Matters by conducting a thorough investigation legally. Therefore, the interviewer asked if the initial claim of anti-Semitic content placed next to regular ads on X was true.
To this, Bailey responded that the investigation would answer all these questions and prove that Media Matters lied.
