Singer and actress Miley Cyrus opened up about her life of fame and her connection with her on-screen alter ego, Hannah Montana.
For years, entertainment icon Miley Cyrus starred as Hannah Montana in the Disney Channel series of the same title. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the songstress opened up about her time on the show and how growing into the character affected the world around her. She divulged:
“Everything was always in me. The concept of the show it’s me. I’ve had to really come to terms with that and not be third-person about it.
Many grew up idolizing the superstar, who kept her identity a secret to sustain a normal life as a typical highschooler. Right after her stint on “Hannah Montana,” the icon went on to pave her way to superstardom in the real world. Recounting her decision, she explained:
“I had to evolve because Hannah was larger than life, larger than me. I felt like I was never gonna amount to the success of Hannah Montana.”
Cyrus’ road to stardom did not come without its pitfalls. As a rising teenage star, the actress dealt with many tribulations, including leaked private photos, enduring years of slut-shaming, and descending to a life of drugs and alcoholism.
However, determined to become a legend, the singer overcame her “experimental phase” before clocking 27, which, according to her, was the determining age.
Today, Cyrus has lived up to her alter ego, Hannah Montana’s fame, with legendary hits like “Midnight Sky,” “Bangerz,” “Wrecking Ball,” and “Younger Now.”
Cyrus credits her success to years of hard work, diligence, and dedication. With those tenets in place, the star had no course to fear what the future had in stock for her success-wise. She divulged:
“I feel like I’ve outgrown that fear. I’m so settled in what I’m doing and who I am. All I’ve ever wanted is respect as an artist and to have pride in what I make.”
Notwithstanding, Cyrus is looking forward to an opportunity to put on the blond wig once again and relive her days as the onscreen secret pop star.
Earlier this year, Cyrus discussed plans to take the famed Hannah Montana wig out of storage and dust it off.
Fans immediately interpreted the statement as a hint at a possible reboot of the Disney Channel series.
But the icon has not always been that enthusiastic about her onscreen alter ego. Last year, she went candid about almost quitting the show at some point. She recounted how having sex for the first time made her feel she’d outgrown the wig.
Luckily, she continued on the Disney series, which proved to be a good move, one she would forever be glad she made.
