On Friday, September 20, 2024, Lizzo turned to Instagram to post multiple photographs of herself posing in a red silk kimono.

Over the top of a video upload in which she is seen sighing and resting her cheek in her hand, the singer, Melissa Jefferson, addressed allegations about her weight loss, stating she has been following a new diet and workout plan.

“When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit,” she fired. Lizzo also shared a screenshot of a comment left by a follower on a prior post.

On why she decided to go on a diet, the singer clarified that she simply wants to live a healthy lifestyle and prioritize her mental health. “I think a lot of people see a fat person that way and immediately just assume everything they’re doing is to be thin,” she said.

“I’m not trying to be thin. I don’t ever want to be thin. Will my body fluctuate from this size? Will I get a little smaller, depending on some of the choices I make, or a little bigger, depending on some of the choices I make in my life? Yes, I’m used to fluctuating,” she added.

Her comment was in response to a video posted by TikTok creator @tiffriahgrande in 2023. In the video, the creator explains that not everyone exercises because they want to lose weight, to which Lizzo shared her video and agreed with that sentiment wholeheartedly.

Has Lizzo Had Surgery?

In 2022, the superstar was embroiled in a heated argument with a comedian over her weight. Although the comedian attempted to dismiss their words, Lizzo was personally affected by them.

People claim Lizzo lost weight through various methods, including weight loss surgery and the use of vitamins. The singer and actress has not confirmed or refuted this. However, people are commenting on how great she looks and how much effort she puts into it.

Despite various reports linking Lizzo’s weight loss to weight loss surgery, no verified evidence supports that the star underwent bariatric surgery. Instead, she has stated unequivocally that she did not lose weight through weight loss surgery.

What Are the Side Effects of Ozempic?

Ozempic (semaglutide) is a type 2 diabetic medicine that helps with weight loss. Common adverse effects include nausea, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort, vomiting, fatigue, disorientation, bloating, heartburn, appetite loss, and injection site reactions.

More serious side effects include pancreatitis, hypoglycemia (particularly when taken with insulin or sulfonylureas), renal problems, gallbladder troubles, diabetic retinopathy, and severe allergic responses.

Ozempic has been found useful in weight loss by suppressing appetite and reducing stomach emptying, which might lead to a sense of fullness. This makes it an excellent choice for people who want to manage both their blood sugar and their weight.

However, it is critical to watch for any serious side effects and speak with a healthcare expert to ensure that Ozempic is the best option for your treatment plan.

How To Maintain Weight Loss After Ozempic?

When it comes to weight loss after ozempic, you must stick to healthy foods and the classics: lean meats, fruits, and veggies. These nutrient-dense foods provide the energy you require to get through the day.

This is especially vital in the first four to six weeks after discontinuing Ozempic, when your body will begin to seek food more frequently.

Set aside a day and time to weigh yourself once a week. It is best to do it in the morning before you eat anything, as this will yield more reliable results.  Keep track of the calories you consume as well.

The more you move, the more weight you’ll lose, so include exercise in your routine. Experts normally prescribe 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise each week, which equates to approximately 30 minutes per day, five days per week.
