Lance Bass of popular music band NSYNC recently had an interview with USA TODAY where he bared it all. The “Better Place” singer spoke about his health, aging, and how fatherhood has impacted his life. According to Bass, he is trying to stop his bad habits and devote “every little thing” he does to his health and wellness.
The singer, 44, was diagnosed with diabetes a couple of years ago. Since then, he has been trying to prioritize his health more. His children are also his primary source of motivation, as he knows that a healthier lifestyle will increase his chances of a longer lifespan. “I want to be here as long as possible for my kids,” he said.
He is the father of beautiful 2½-year-old twins Alexander and Violet. He also noted that fatherhood “changed my life completely.” Therefore, he cannot continue living like he’s in his twenties. “I’m in my 40s now, so I need to stop pretending I’m 21,” he said in the Zoom interview with USA TODAY.
Furthermore, he spoke about his illness and what he has been doing to manage it. “It’s all kind of trial and error right now as I try to get all this under control,” the “I Want You Back” singer said.

As a member of a boy band since he was 16, Bass was used to life revolving around him. However, his children have changed this notion. “When you have kids, it’s no longer about you,” he said.
“It’s about someone else. And I love that feeling. I love feeling selflessness and putting all this energy into these two human beings you want to make good people.”

When he had his children during the pandemic with his husband, Michael Turchin, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family. “What was so nice to be present with my kids and not be on the road for so many days, missing out on them growing up. And that taught me even now that COVID (restrictions are) lifted, and we can travel; I’ve tamed that down even to this day.”
However, Bass cannot wait to travel with them. He says they are at an age now where it is easier to communicate with them. “They’re finally at an age where it’s easy to communicate with them,” he said. “And if they’re crying on a plane, you can actually have a conversation about it.”

The “This I Promise You” singer also attributes his newfound growth to therapy. He says his relationship with his husband is thriving, and they’re both learning to be better communicators. “Thank you, therapy,” Bass said.
Therefore, the NSYNC singer says “Bye, Bye, Bye” to trivialities. He is also saying hello to a new era of growth, good health, and family love.
