Reality television personality and entrepreneur, Kylie Jenner delved into the world of fame at age ten. Featuring in her family’s reality series, “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” from her preteens, the icon’s life growing up was subject to media criticism, which almost stole away her sanity.
Growing up in the spotlights meant constantly being the center of public interest. Jenner has endured that since she was ten. The 22-year-old’s early brush with fame and affluence, however, came at a price.
Although Jenner went on to establish a fortune with her self-owned cosmetic company and a spin-off reality show, “Life Of Kylie,” her life was far from perfect. In addition to robbing her off a normal life, stardom toyed with the beauty mogul’s mental health, leaving her in a constant state of anxiety.
KYLIE JENNER’S BATTLE WITH ANXIETY
Kylie Jenner has been open about how attaining stardom early left her battling anxiety all her life. In a 2019 post on Instagram, the businesswoman gave the world a glimpse of her real world, without the media filters and made-for-TV stories.
She recounted how her young adult life was plagued with anxiety while establishing that she was just human and, therefore, not perfect. Going further, she assured her fans that most of what she let out on social media was just the surface. In the real world, she dealt with problems like everyone else.
Kylie Jenner, who was now 22, and a mother to 2-year-old Stormi Webster, recounted how somewhere in her growing phases, she lost herself. The birth of her daughter helped her realize she had to find herself entirely again.
Through it all, Jenner has become someone she is proud of. Without being daunted by the loss of friends, and having a million eyes on her ever-ready to criticize her every move, the makeup mogul has excelled as a mother and a career woman.
A REMINDER TO KEEP SANE
Jenner also reflected on the origin of her first tattoo. Via the Instagram post, she disclosed how stardom almost came at the cost of her sanity. To ensure she kept her sanity intact, the “KUWTK” star acquired the tattoo, “Sanity,” inscribed phonetically on her right hip.
The tattoo, according to the Kylie Cosmetics founder, was an everyday reminder to maintain her sanity. Jenner concluded the emotional post by urging everyone to be themselves and do more of what makes them happy without being apologetic.
FANS REACT TO JENNER’S INSTAGRAM POST
The icon’s revealing post garnered comments from fans, who were eager to commend her honesty. Famous personalities on Jenner’s timeline also took to the comment section to assure the mother of one that she wasn’t alone.
Jenner’s half-sisters, Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian, also had encouraging words for the young mom. Khloe reflected on how proud she was of the beauty mogul, while Kourtney urged her to “let it out,” adding that she was proud of her.
Kylie Jenner’s friend, Anastasia “Stassie” Karanikolaou, joined the emotional outpouring, calling the reality star a “most beautiful soul.” Stassie also declared her love for the mother-of-one.
HELPING OTHERS DEAL WITH ANXIETY
Kylie is just one of many young adults in the United States who suffer from anxiety at one point in their lives. Mostly, this condition results when one has fears about the future and can’t stop worrying about one thing or another.
Upcoming exams, interviews, public performances, or role-playing can sometimes lead to anxiety. In these cases, however, the feeling passes after scaling the milestone. In rare cases, the anxiety persists, becoming a problem with one’s mental well-being.
Such was the case of Saffron Scullion, who doctors diagnosed with chronic anxiety in 2017. Scullion, a seventeen-year-old at the time, struggled with the condition long before her diagnosis. She recounted how the condition began in 2013, with little bouts of anxiousness over school and exams. It persisted until she experienced a panic attack in a bus one day.
Since then, Scullion never left her house. Saffron Scullion, who was admittedly a huge fan of Kylie Jenner, decided to set up a fan page. Originally, the page’s aim was to help her deal with the boredom that came with staying indoors.
The Instagram account soon garnered over a hundred thousand followers. Through the page, Scullion met several people, some of whom also battled anxiety. Conversing with them helped her anxiety “in a way” by letting her know there were others out there with the same issues.
Kylie Jenner’s anxiety battle and her honest outpouring continue to serve as an encouragement to Scullion, and many others like her, whose lives have in some way been hampered by the condition.
