Khloe Kardashian was allegedly banned from the Met Gala event and the rumor has been on for a few years. The same hearsay reared its head again this year after Khloe was once again missing at the sartorial gathering.
The Met Gala is one of the most-talked-about and anticipated events, and the phenomenal Kar-Jenner never fails to leave unforgettable trails of fashion. However, there has been a noticeable absence of two of the famous family members, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian.
The talks around the pair’s absence were on again after Kim, Kendall and their mom Kris Jenner took to the vast ceremonial carpet of the Met this year. Kourtney’s absence was not as talked about as Khloe, who was said to have been banned. Here’s all we know about the speculations.
Some Members of the Kar-Jenner Family Were Missing at the Met Gala
Kim, Kendall, and Kris hit the red carpet with their ever-influential looks and fashion preferences in tow. Kim memorably donned an all-black look nick-named the “unlocked character.”
Kendall was all for some sheer goodness, slipping her elegant figure into a mesh dress with intricate embroidery and bejeweled bodice. Kris and her boyfriend Corey Gamble appeared in all-black elegance.
However, Kylie did not attend the Met Gala event, and although fans missed her presence, the curiosity was not as intense as that cast on Khloe. She had never attended the Met Gala, and she was also not present this time.
Kourtney, for one, was said to have opted out to stay back so Khloe would not feel left out. She had also never been at the charity ball, but she was said to have gotten an invitation in 2019.
This brought out the rumors that Anna Wintour, the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, blacklisted Khloe from getting invited. Wintour was also said to have referred to the Good American boss as too “C-list.”
What Khloe Kardashian Had To Say
In days that followed the Met Gala ball and the buzz around it, Khloe seemed to have posted some cryptic messages on social media alluding to the star-studded occasion.
However, during a Q&A session on her Instagram story, a fan asked her the burning question of her absence at the fashion event and also about the ban. The “Revenge Body” star clamped down on that and set the record straight.
Khloe implored fans to not always believe what they see on social media. She shared that it was “absolutely not true.” The star has also seemed to be a good sport, always supporting her sisters when they made their red carpet appearances.
The Kar-Jenner Family’s All-Time Appearance At Met Gala
Kim opened the Met Gala attendance in her family as she made her debut in 2013. The star was pregnant with her first child. Kim clad herself in a floral Givenchy dress with matching heels.
The following year, she was stunning in a dark blue dress accompanied by Kendall Jenner, who made her debut. Kendall donned a satin Topshop dress. Their A-list momager, Kris, attended for the first time in 2015.
At the time, she made quite the statement in a red dress and gold jewelry. Kylie’s debut followed in 2016 when she stepped on the carpet in a floor-length diamond-studded dress and some sass.
