Kate Middleton Established Rules With the Royals, Said Her Family Would Always Be Her Priority

As loyal as Kate Middleton is to the crown, she also extends that to personal ethics. Speaking on the crown, Middleton has expressed her belief that her children are and always will be her priority.

According to author Robert Jobson, despite being born into a close-knit family of five and outside the royal family, Middleton knows her mind. Jobson added that she had created some essential life principles that she would stick to when she joined the royal family.

Middleton’s Condition for Joining the Royal Family

In his latest book, “Catherine, the Princess of Wales,” Jobson focuses on Kate Middleton, whom he has known since 2011. According to the author, in early 2015, when Middleton was expecting, she presented terms to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles through Prince William.

Prince William informed his father and grandmother that Middleton required space and time to adjust to royal life. In Jobson’s book, which was published on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, he detailed the Princess’ life rules.

He wrote, “She was clear from the outset that she would not be pigeonholed into carrying out particular duties and insisted on having her full quota of maternity leave away from the glare of the media and the public.” Middleton emphasized that her family was her priority.

Kate Middleton’s Cancer Diagnosis

As much as Middleton prioritizes her children, she also prioritizes her health. In March 2024, she announced her cancer diagnosis and her intention to focus on her treatment. Jobson spoke about Middleton making appearances at Wimbledon in July 2024 and Trooping the Color in June 2024.

Jobson wrote, “She is doing things slowly and when she is ready. They aren’t worried about visibility; they are just going to do it, and that will be visible rather than the other way around. Health and proper recovery are what are important.”

In a private video message on March 22, 2024, Middleton disclosed that she was receiving prophylactic chemotherapy. The news came after Middleton’s scheduled stomach surgery” in January 2024 began sparking rumors.

In the video message, Middleton said, “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous.” According to Jobson, Middleton and her five family members will spend the summer at their rural residence, Anmer Hall.

He added that they can go outside and take in the fresh air and space. Jobson said that he anticipated the group of five visiting Scotland’s Balmoral Castle, the royal family’s customary August 2024 retreat.

How Many Kids Does Kate Middleton Have?

Kate Middleton and Prince William share three kids, who are currently second, third, and fourth in line for the throne after Queen Elizabeth II’s death. In July 2013, Middleton gave birth to Prince George in London’s St Mary’s Hospital.

Like her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, Kate Middleton has brought life back to the royal family. In exchange, she receives a substantial payment for her services to the monarchy. The royal family made public the Duchy of Cornwall’s Integrated Annual Report. 

The report contains the joint financial statements of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Duchy made over £23.6 million, or about $30 million, between March 2023 and March 2024.

Middleton and William have their expenses covered by the Duchy of Cornwall despite not receiving pay for their royal roles. In June 2024, Middleton released her first picture since her cancer diagnosis announcement, putting to bed the rumors about her health.

Kate Middleton and Prince William tied the knot on April 29, 2011. At the time, William was 28 years old, while Middleton was 29.
