With Biden’s withdrawal from the campaign, the public’s support immediately changed. There had reportedly been a lot of pressure for the President to give up the Democratic ticket.

On July 27, Harris held a campaign rally that was originally scheduled for Biden but went over and beyond. It was anticipated that the hundreds of people at the demonstration in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, would raise $400,000.

Moreover, Michelle Obama and the late President Barack Obama claimed to have her back and front. On Friday, July 26, an endorsement video was made available.

The campaign’s director of communications, Michael Tyler, wrote in a memo, “The momentum and energy for Vice President Kamala Harris is real and so are the fundamentals of this race. This election will be very close and decided by a small number of voters in just a few states.”

Approximately 2,300 organizing events were held this weekend in battleground states, according to her team, while numerous prominent Democrats who are being considered as Harris’ running mates made campaign appearances.

Beshear told supporters that their efforts might make a difference in what is anticipated to be a close campaign, speaking from personal experience. Out of 1.41 million votes cast, Beshear prevailed in his 2019 campaign by a margin of approximately 5,000 votes. In November, he won reelection with a rather wide margin.

Donald Trump and Reacts To Harris Fundraising

Concurrently, Trump, Sen. JD Vance, his running mate, and other proxies intensified their attempts to portray Harris as a radical leftist politician disconnected from the mainstream of American politics. Harris “got a little bit of a bump from her introduction.” According to Vance, who commented on a Sunday visit to a cafe in Waite Park, Minnesota. But he also indicated it will pass quickly.

Vance remarked, “Look, people are going to find out about her record.” They will discover that she is an extreme person. They will discover that she is essentially a liberal from San Francisco who wishes to impose San Francisco policies over the nation.

Backlash Against Kamala Harris

Vance was following in the footsteps of Trump, who referred to Harris as a “crazy liberal.” He charged that she wanted to “defund the police.” Also described her as an “absolute radical” when it came to abortion during a Saturday campaign stop in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

As a strong advocate for abortion rights, Harris has stated that one of the main tenets of her campaign will be to oppose Republican-backed attempts to limit reproductive rights.

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., a supporter of Trump, also attempted to characterize Harris as a full partner for “a lot of the worst decisions of the Biden administration.” Citing the disastrous withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan in August 2021 that precipitated the rapid collapse of the country’s military and government.
