In the aftermath of President Joe Biden’s July 21, 2024, tweet endorsing Kamala Harris, different reports and reactions have been made. In response to the endorsement tweet, Harris former boyfriend, Montel Williams, has reacted to the news. However, Williams made another statement to clarify his initial statement after he was accused of not supporting Harris’ endorsement.
The Original Post
On July 22, 2024, Williams made a tweet in reaction to Biden’s withdrawal and his endorsement of Harris as the Democratic nominee. Williams made a statement urging his “media friends” not to waste their time on a picture over two decades old. However, Williams has now deleted the X post, despite not explicitly mentioning the image he was talking about.
Subsequently, after Williams deleted his X post, he shared a tweet Jonathan Franks, a political strategist, had made. In the tweet that Frank shared, he posted a screenshot of an email he received that asked for Williams’s comment on the endorsement news. The email acknowledged Franks as Williams’ media representative.
Frank captioned the screenshot, “Ask stupid questions, win stupid prizes.” Additionally, Frank stated that this is how he intends to respond to any reporter asking him such questions. Franks described the questions as creepy and misogynistic, adding that he has no obligation to be cordial to reporters asking them.

Montel Williams Endorses Maryland Governor Wes Moore
After Williams retweeted Frank’s post, he reposted an earlier tweet he made. In the tweet, Williams said he would love to see Wes Moore as the Democrat’s presidential candidate or on the ballot. Williams stated that he has watched Moore lead Maryland as its governor and that he knows good leadership when he sees it.
The statement appeared to look as if Williams preferred Moore as the Democratic presidential nominee rather than Harris. However, on July 22, 2024, at around 2:27 PM, Moore shared a tweet endorsing Harris for president. Moore wrote, “Today, I am proud to voice my full support and offer my full endorsement to Vice President Kamala Harris to be the Democratic nominee for President of the United States.”
After Moore’s post went online, Williams reposted his tweet, showing his agreement with Moore’s endorsement. Additionally, Williams shared a screenshot of his repost to ensure that his sentiment was made public.

However, it seems that Williams’ tweet was misinterpreted to suggest that he was not endorsing Harris in the presidential election. Consequently, Williams responded to individuals who were wondering why he had initially chosen to endorse Moore instead of his ex-girlfriend.

Williams asked why people were surprised that he was interested in a politician with a naval background and impeccable leadership skills. Adding to that, Moore has done nothing but impress him since his tenure began in 2023. Additionally, Williams retweeted a TMZ article suggesting he didn’t endorse Harris.
Williams had responded to the post with a comment saying, “Guys, I hate to ruin your day, but you massively misinterpreted my tweet.” I will vote for whomever can beat Trump,” he explained.
Who Is Kamala Harris’ ex-boyfriend?
Reflecting on their relationship, Williams sent out a tweet in 2019, stating his respect for her, before criticizing the public interest in Harris’ dating history. Williams wrote that he and Harris got into a relationship in 2001, when they were both single.
He wrote that he had nothing but great Harris, who was a senator at the time. Additionally, Williams said he wonders if anybody would care about Harris’ dating history if she were a male candidate.
However, not much is known about Williams and Harris’ past romance, as reports about their relationship were very few. There is a picture of them at the Eighth Annual Race to Erase Multiple Sclerosis in May 2001, which also happens to be their most popular public event. Williams and Harris had attended the event with Williams’ daughter Ashley Williams.

Born on October 20, 1964, Kamala Devi Harris is an American politician and lawyer who has served as President Joe Biden’s 49th vice president since 2021. She is not just the first African American and Asian American vice president, but also the first female vice president and the highest-ranked female official in American history.
She is a Democrat who represented California as attorney general from 2011 to 2017 and as a U.S. senator from 2017 to 2021. In the 2024 presidential contest, Harris is the Democratic Party’s presumed nominee.

Harris dated California Assembly Speaker Willie Brown in the 1990s. In 2013, a mutual acquaintance arranged for Harris and lawyer Doug Emhoff to go on a blind date, which is how Harris met her future husband, Emhoff. Born into a Jewish family, Emhoff is an attorney who practiced entertainment law before taking on the position of partner-in-charge at Venable LLP’s Los Angeles office.
On August 22, 2014, Harris and Emhoff tied the knot in Santa Barbara, California. From Emhoff’s first marriage to film producer Kerstin Emhoff, Harris is the stepmother to Emhoff’s two children, Cole and Ella. Harris and her spouse’s estimated net worth was $5.8 million as of August 2019.
