John Goodman, famous for his role in “Roseanne,” recently shocked onlookers with his slimmer figure at New York City’s John F. Kennedy Airport. He showed off his physique while scrolling through the airport with Anna Beth, his wife of 35 years.

The 71-year-old actor informed Rolling Stone that he had lost over 200 pounds since starting his health journey in 2007. At the airport, John Goodman wore a casual but nice blue sweatshirt under a black shirt, an olive green jacket, khaki pants, and beige Hoka sneakers.

Anna Beth, chic as ever, accompanied him with a white blouse, black flare-leg pants, and white sneakers as she pulled a light pink carry-on bag.

John Goodman Opens Up About Maintaining Weight Loss and Fitness Routine

Goodman and Beth got married in 1989. The duo share a daughter named Molly Evangeline, 33. Last year, in an interview, Goodman discussed how he maintains weight loss. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, he revealed his struggle with being active even while working full-time.

However, he focused on continuing his exercise routine. More recently, he expressed his intentions to prioritize physical activity during the upcoming summer months. Struggling with obsessive eating, he recognized the need to break free from constant snacking, describing his previous behavior as “eating alcoholically.”

Aside from obsessive eating, Goodman also had alcohol issues. Notably, Goodman’s battle with alcoholism spanned three decades. It was after this time he knew he had to become sober in 2007. Speaking about his previous struggles, Goodman disclosed his previous pattern of weight loss followed by relapse, characterized by taking alcohol.

Recognizing the need for gradual change, Goodman stated the importance of incorporating physical activity and mindful eating into his routine. Furthermore, he acknowledged the role of spirituality and purpose in combating addictive tendencies, advocating for a holistic approach to well-being.

According to him, it is just a belief in something higher than yourself, a purpose. However, rather than filling it with cocaine, booze, or food, you just admit that it’s there. Moreover, he said one couldn’t fill it; you can only go on and live with it.

In 2010, Goodman spoke to People regarding his transformative lifestyle changes, which included collaborating with health coach Mackie Shilstone. Notably, Shilstone has worked with top athletes like Serena Williams. Together, Goodman and Shilstone implemented a regimen focused on reducing sugar, increasing physical activity to six workouts weekly, and promoting healthier habits. 

According to him, he was breaking a sweat during this time but trying not to go wild. He also admitted that the whole activity took a lot of creative energy to sit and figure out what he was to do next. Honestly, Goodman just wanted to live better.
