In August 2024, an Arizona man was apprehended after allegedly crawling beneath the cars of multiple women to satisfy his sexual gratification. On Thursday, August 29, camera surveillance caught Jesse Michael Johnson crawling underneath vehicles at a car wash in Gilbert, Arizona.
According to the footage, Johnson’s actions of hiding under a car to stare at women’s feet resulted in the victimization of three women. The 28-year-old offender committed the infraction at a Super Star Car Wash in Arizona.
According to authorities, this isn’t Johnson’s first sexual misconduct, given his criminal record of staring at, touching, or licking women’s feet for sexual pleasure.
Jesse Michael Johnson Will Appear in Court on October 3
Super Star Car Wash employee Keith Baker became apprehensive when a female customer requested to check the cameras. The woman had requested the footage as she was certain someone was underneath her car as she was vacuuming it.
According to Baker, after viewing the footage, he confirmed that the incident was as reported. Because of the location and the inability to identify Jesse Michael Johnson, speculation was made about him being a possible member of the car wash.
Baker said, “Sure enough, going through the video footage, I watched that happen. She was already in the process of calling the cops.” Using security footage from Super Star Car Wash, Gilbert Police were able to obtain a partial plate of Johnson’s vehicle.

However, the police couldn’t identify or locate Johnson until his reappearance at the car wash. According to police records, Johnson was arrested multiple times for similar infractions.
Despite his history as a multiple sex offender, Johnson wasn’t arrested until Tuesday, September 24, 2024. When he was arrested, he was given a $10,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Johnson has been charged with three counts of voyeurism and three counts of disorderly conduct.
How Investigators Described Jesse Michael Johnson’s Actions
On August 29, 2024, police investigators stated they were looking into three separate incidents involving Jesse Michael Johnson. Subsequently, on September 24, 2024, he was taken into custody at Emmett and Riggs Road.
According to investigators, all the incidents were reported incidents of a man crawling under women’s SUVs at Riggs Road and Val Vista Drive. The investigators said, “In these three incidents, the defendant pulled into a parking spot next to the victim.”

According to the police, Johnson’s activities under the cars were unknown to his victim at the time of the incident. Consequently, the victims had to get their vehicles checked for damage and rule out the possibility of a tracking device.
Investigators reported that all three victims described the experience as very unpleasant, with one victim suffering from recurring nightmares.
How One of His Victims Feels
According to one of the alleged victims, identified as Chanelle, she had stopped at the car wash on her way to her son’s school. According to surveillance footage, Jesse Michael Johnson had poked his head out of the driver’s side of Chanelle’s car before going back to his car and pretending to clean his tires.
Chanelle stated that if another customer had not drawn her attention to it, she would have remained oblivious to the act. Speaking with AZFamily, Chanelle described the act as disgusting and violating, adding that she has had nightmares since the incident happened.
Chanelle said, “I couldn’t believe that I was in that situation. It was a very scary situation, especially with my little boy with me when it happened.” She added, “I guess this is just a really good reminder: just to make sure that you’re always looking around, keeping your kids close, because you just never know what can be happening around you.”

The Motivation Behind Jesse Michael Johnson’s Actions
Arizonan authorities discovered that Jesse Michael Johnson had a criminal past and had been arrested several times in Nebraska. According to court documents, Johnson admitted that he was sexually drawn to women’s feet and struggled to regulate his desires.
Before his August 2024 incident and his subsequent arrest, Johnson was arrested in 2016 for sexually related offenses. In June 2016, he received four citations in Nebraska for hiding under cars and grabbing people’s ankles.
He was arrested for disturbing the peace and pleaded no contest. Consequently, Johnson received a two-year probationary term, a $150 fine, and a psychological evaluation. While fresh charges have been levied against him, his sentence remains unknown.
