Since TV host Jeannie Mai and star rapper Jeezy became an item, the pair have shown how smitten they are by each other. Mai has also shared sweet details about their relationship and how she realized her “equal” in Jeezy.

Now the married couple are expecting their first child together. Mai recently shared the news and gave her slew of admirers a pleasant surprise. Here’s a look through her love life as she anticipates parenthood with Jeezy. 

Jeannie Mai And Jeezy Met On “The Real”

The pair made acquaintances on the long-running show, “The Real,” and fancied each other from the start. Mai and Jeezy kept up with each other, and after a while, there were rumors that they were an item. 

They kept their relationship low-key, and by November 2018, the couple was officially dating. After a year of dating, Mai shared some lovely details about her man with her fellow hosts. 

She described the rapper as “passionate and introspective,” adding that he was a great leader and was a visionary. Mai related that Jeezy proved to be an amazing “servant to his community.”

The lovebirds made their first public appearance together in April 2019 when Mai accompanied Jeezy to his inaugural SnoBall Gala in Atlanta. Reports showed that the pair stayed close all through and were all smiles. 

An Intimate Ceremony

Once the “Soul Survivor” rapper and the “How Do I look” star knew they wanted to be together forever, they wasted no time putting their wedding plans in motion. Jeezy proposed to his lover in March 2020 and tied the knot a year after.

The intimate wedding ceremony was set at their Atlanta home earlier this year in March. They initially planned to tie the knot at the South of France in Lake Como, but the COVID-19 pandemic was a hindrance.

They ultimately chose a private ceremony with their close friends and family members in attendance. Mai shared details of her wedding, noting that once all the guests tested negative to the novel coronavirus, they were “shuttled” to the venue.

The TV personality never shies away from sharing updates on her life. In a recent update, she made it known that after their wedding, there was a desirable shift in her relationship with Jeezy.

The “shift” marked a moment that she had never felt before. She described it as a “deep, sacred, invested commitment to this person” and she was willing to make compromises for the love she and Jezzy shared. 

Once speaking about the issue of submission in relationships, Mai relayed that she was willing to submit to her husband. Since she makes many decisions in her career, Mai liked the idea that her husband would take the lead at home.

The latest news from the couple was revealed in a recent episode of “The Real,” where Mai displayed her growing baby bump. She opened up on the moment she found out she was going to be a mom. 

Mai felt the need to tell her co-hosts, referring to them as “the girls that have always accepted me at every stage of my life.” She added that she felt like the “The Real” ladies have individually told her she would be an “awesome mom” if she chose motherhood. 

Before now, Mai voiced her decision on not wanting kids, and that was the term in her former marriage. She noted that her one-time decision was borne out of insecurities, but with Jeezy, she felt safe and ready to become a parent.
