Armie Hammer is “trying to be at peace” while coping with charges of sexual and physical assault. Many are curious about what Armie Hammer’s life is like now, years after claims of sexual and physical assault destroyed his Hollywood career.
Following the premiere of The Armie Hammer Time Podcast, sources disclosed to PEOPLE that the 38-year-old actor is living a simple life in Los Angeles while dealing with the fallout from a series of charges made against him beginning in January 2021.
“He still gets frustrated at specific sensational allegations, but he’s trying to be at peace about it,” says one source. After Los Angeles police identified Hammer as a suspect in an inquiry into an alleged 2017 sexual assault, the Los Angeles District Attorney determined in May 2023 that there was insufficient evidence to proceed with a prosecution, and Hammer was not charged.
Exes Courtney Vucekovich and Julia Morrison have also claimed that the “Call Me by Your Name” actor sent them messages with violent and cannibalistic fantasies. At the time, Armie Hammer’s lawyer stated that “all interactions between Mr. Hammer and his former partners were consensual.”

According to sources, Hammer is currently “not living in some lap of luxury.” He stresses that he “got zero money from family” and resides in a “very small” Los Angeles apartment.
Who Is Armie Hammer Married To?
Armie Hammer is currently not married. He was previously married to Elizabeth Chambers, but they divorced in 2023. According to Chambers’ interview with Elle, the two met after a mutual acquaintance brought her to one of Hammer’s escapades in Los Angeles.
At the time, she worked as an anchor and journalist for Current TV, Al Gore’s old news program. Armie Hammer, on the other hand, was advancing in his acting career. They were married on May 25, 2010, at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills.
Their reception was held at a vineyard in Malibu. On December 1, 2014, Chambers gave birth to a daughter named Harper. Afterward, on January 15, 2017, Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers had their second child, a boy called Ford Douglas Armand Hammer, in Los Angeles.
According to court documents filed on June 20, 2023, the couple struck an agreement on their divorce. The court filings, obtained by TODAY, show they asked the judge to sign off on the arrangement they reached but do not detail their settlement. Recently, Hammer was engaged to Marina Gris, but they have since called off their engagement.
Who Are Armie Hammer’s Accusers?
In March 2021, a woman claimed actor Armie Hammer raped her in 2017. In a statement to NBC News at the time, the actor’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, refuted the allegations of rape. He stated that all of Hammer’s sexual interactions “have been completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory.”
The actor did not deny being in a relationship with her. The lady, Effie, claimed she had an affair with the then-married actor in 2016 and continued until 2020.

She said Hammer physically and emotionally assaulted her and used “manipulation tactics in order to exert control” over her. However, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office chose not to file sexual assault charges in 2023.
Following Effie’s allegations, several other women came forward and accused the actor of being interested in cannibalism and even kinky sex. Following the accusations, the celebrity, who initially gained fame for portraying the Winklevoss twins on “The Social Network,” lost several projects, his personal publicist, and his old agency.
Hammer insisted on his innocence despite renouncing a part in Jennifer Lopez’s movie “Shotgun Wedding.” After receiving criticism, the actor said he attempted suicide in the Cayman Islands and found work selling timeshares.
He acknowledged that he was emotionally abusive to his ex-partners, but he attributed his behavior to the trauma he endured from a youth pastor who reportedly sexually assaulted him while he was 13.

Did Armie Hammer Face Allegations of Cannibalism?
According to Armie Hammer’s accusers, the actor discussed eating their bodily parts. One mentioned that he wanted to break her rib, barbecue it, and eat it. He also expressed a desire to take a bite out of her. If she had a small cut on her hand, he would suck or lick it. That was about as weird as it got.
In an interview with Vanity Fair as part of a March 2021 deep dive into Hammer and his family tree, another shared that he would say strange things to her, like wanting to eat her ribs. She added that the scariest part was that she did love him in a way and would have let him do almost anything because he had a certain hold over her.
