One thing that Iggy Azalea has never been shy about is her co-parenting with Playboi Carti. Additionally, the most popular narrative is that she has always been the most active parent between herself and Carti. However, not looking to stop, Azalea gave an interview in which she spoke about her more active role in parenting their kids.
In June 2020, Azalea and Carti welcomed a son together named Onyx, although they broke up in December 2019. Subsequently, in October 2020, Azalea released a statement confirming her breakup with Carti and that she was the only one involved in raising the child.

On Thursday, July 25, 2024, Azalea made an appearance on Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s ‘Dinner’s On Me’ podcast. Speaking on the podcast, Azalea said she is practically a single mother. Azalea continued “I’m very much the only parent, no disrespect, but yes, I am not co-parenting really, and that’s just the reality of it. It’s one, it’s 24/7.”
However, her conversation with Ferguson wasn’t just centered on her situation with Carti. Azalea claims that becoming a mother has changed her outlook on several things, including the type of life she desires.

She said, “I no longer want to be traveling around everywhere. I want to take my son to school. Azalea said she wants her son to have memories of her and to enjoy this time of his life, as it was very important to her.” According to Azalea, during the pregnancy, her mother boosted her confidence, making her feel like a multi-talented superwoman.

Seeing the comfort her mother provided, Azalea said that although her son is only four, she intends to spend as much quality time as she can with him. Azalea said she has begun teaching him how to be confident and guiding him in general. Additionally, Azalea said, “It’s my job as a parent.” I think if you’re going to have a child, you should be prepared to do that and engage in it. And I really want to. I toured for two years with my son on a bus, and it was time for that to end.”
On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, Azalea made an X post announcing her decision to retire from making music. Azalea said that she intends to pursue her other creative talents, starting her career in creative design. She is among the most recent celebrity moms to discuss her co-parenting arrangements in public.

After meeting American rapper ASAP Rocky through record producer Chase N. Cashe, Azalea started dating him in late 2011. In an interview from January 2012, she said that they were dating, and it was around this same period that she learned the name of Rocky’s breakthrough mixtape, Live. Love.
