Former U.S. president and current GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has received a lot of backlash for the disregard for the well-being of his rallygoers over the years. Recently, Trump gave people more reason to believe this by making some comments while he was in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a scorching heat of 103 degrees Fahrenheit.

As summertime is now in bloom, the country as a whole has been experiencing some serious heat that has caused many to worry. However, the hot weather did not stop Trump from hosting an outdoor rally in Sunset Park, and his supporters were more than happy to go see him. During his speech at the rally, the ex-president made several comments about the weather, noting that the heat was quite harsh.

He also noted that his campaign had told people not to come but bragged about the fact that there were about twenty thousand in attendance. While attempting to make a joke, Trump said that he only cared about the votes that his supporters could give him and not their well-being. Therefore, he didn’t want anyone to “go on him” as he needed every voter available.

His fans got his humor clear as day, and they also laughed about it. During his speech, Trump also said that he was expecting media houses and news publications to take his joke out of context. He told his rallygoers that he was expecting them to quote him and act like he said a very horrible thing to his fans despite the harsh weather.

Later, he moved on from the joke but still mentioned the blazing hot weather at intervals. Much to people’s surprise, Trump attended the rally with his signature heavy coat and tie despite the terrible heat. However, his speech was quite brief compared to other times and this has been assumed to be because of the heat.

After the rally ended, many local media reported that almost 24 rallygoers had to be treated at the the due to medical complications from the heat. Six other people had to go to the hospital for more intensive medical treatment.

Thankfully, no casualties were recorded or confirmed. As he spreads predicted, many people had a lot to say about the joke as they did not find it funny or reliable.

Climate Power, a Democratic boosting strat-com firm, attacked Trump for his comments during the rally. The firm, which is notable for its stance on climate and environmental issues, released a statement condemning Trump’s words.

Their communications director, Alex Glass put out the statement, arguing that Trump was openly telling people that he doesn’t care about them and only looks out for himself.

He also mentioned the promises that Trump had previously made to Big Oil companies, which are active contributors to the increasing climate change and the significantly hot weather. He mentioned the people who were passing out at his rallies and called Trump out for believing that climate change was nothing but a hoax.

While Trump mentioned being hot several times, it is important to note that he never spoke about his plans to combat climate change. Instead, he spent the majority of the speech bashing immigrants who have come to the U.S.
