The American economy, subject to rising inflation, has been struggling for some time now, and it has taken a toll on its people.
Inflation is not a respecter of persons or companies. Big companies, small ones, rich people, and the less fortunate folks have all felt its sting. Multiple industries reacted to it by increasing their product prices. And it has left the average consumer struggling to afford basic items.
Inflation is a big threat to the American economy. Mostly because it affects consumer spending, which makes up two-thirds of the economy. Simply put, the less people spend, the more the economy worsens. And if the economy does not improve, inflation will only get worse.
Many people have become very frugal to cope with rising inflation. They only spend on essentials, a habit that has lessened foot traffic at retail stores nationwide.

Amazon Fresh is attempting to use a textbook method to lure customers back — offering a massive discount. It hopes to help people spend more by reducing the cost of 4,000 items by 30%, a benefit available to both online and walk-in stores. Products that will benefit from the slash include meat, seafood, frozen food, dairy, cheese, beverages, snacks, and pasta.
The price slash is available to regular patrons of Amazon Fresh. But if you have an Amazon Prime membership, you can save up to 40% on your purchases because of an extra 10% discount available to only members of Amazon Prime.
Also, Amazon Fresh will offer rotational discounts on various products to keep things fresh. This tactic will give more people who want to make the most of the discounts a reason to shop frequently. After all, different products will be on offer at various times.

The company has made things easier by making the weekly savings and deals available to view on the Amazon Prime website. This way, its members can decide if they want to visit the store to capitalize on the offered discounts.
The world of retail is competitive, so as expected, Amazon Fresh is not the only store offering discounts this summer. Walmart, for example, has a one-click summer deal that allows people to choose from shopping bundles that include items they will need for a summer party.
Some stores have also launched private labels that give consumers the opportunity to buy their favorite products at a much lower cost. Target is one of the stores that does this. Its private label, Dealworthy, offers customers a variety of products for less than $10.
The COVID-19 pandemic saw the inflation rate increase exponentially, and things have barely improved. However, there is hope. Experts claim there was a dip in inflation in April 2024.

Prices were still up by 3.4% compared to April 2023’s numbers, but this follows the predicted trend by economists and could mean that prices will start to fall.
Many hope that the deals and discounts that various stores offer consumers will grant them more purchasing freedom, which will help the American economy recover in the long run. After all, the nation can only combat inflation with a booming economy.
