Since the release of the list of nominees for the 2021 Grammy Awards in November 2020, many have left their fingers crossed in anticipation.
If you are a lover of music and have some of your favorite celebrities on the list of nominees for the Grammy 2021, then you are probably among tons of fans asking: “When is the Grammys 2021?”
Following the release of the Grammy 2021 nominations list on November 24, 2021, the organizers slated the date of the event for January 31, 2021. However, the Recording Academy eventually postponed it due to a rapid rise in the number of COVID-19 cases.
The long-anticipated 63rd Grammy Award show is set to air on Sunday, March 14. As the new date draws nearer, many continue waiting to finally exhale, with hopes that their favorites snag the required vote to take home the prized gramophone in their respective categories at the Grammys 2021.
Ahead of the event which takes place at the Los Angeles Staples Center, here is a list of trailblazing nominees to look out for come March 14.
1. BEYONCЀ
Queen Bey upped her game last year with some of the most epic performances of 2020, earning her Grammy nominations in nine different categories.
She received nods in the Record of the Year, Best R&B Song, Best R&B Performance, and Song of the Year categories, for her song, “Black Parade.”
Additionally, the legendary hip hop queen snagged nominations in the Best Music Video category, for her song, “Brown Skin Girl,” while “Black is King” earned her a nod for Best Music Film.
Beyoncé’s song with Meghan Thee Stallion, “Savage,” received nominations in the categories, Record Of The Year, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance.
Her nine total nominations set the record for the most nominations for the 63rd Grammy Awards, a record fit for a queen.
2. TAYLOR SWIFT
When Taylor Swift released her mind-blowing Album, “Folklore” in 2020, the world embraced it as a major distraction from an otherwise turbulent year. “Folklore” easily passed as one of the major highlights of 2020. Hence, it is unsurprising to find the iconic songstress on the Grammys 2021 nominations list.
She follows closely behind Beyoncé with a total of six nominations for the 2021 Grammys. “Folklore” received nods for Album of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album, while “Cardigan” is up for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the year.
“Exile,” which she performed alongside Bon Iver is in line for the award of Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. In the Best Song Written for Visual Media category, her song, “Beautiful Ghosts,” from Cats made the list.
3. DU LIPA
Also boasting nominations in six categories, Du Lipa is among the top artists to watch out for at the upcoming Grammys. Her song “Don’t Start Now,” is one of nine songs with the most votes in the Grammy Award 2021 Record of the Year category. It also competes for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year.
Additionally, her performance alongside J Balvin, Tainy, and Bad Bunny in “Un Dia (One Day) earned her a nod for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Also in the Album of the Year category, Du Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia” is a contender. Likewise for the Best Pop Vocal Album category.
4. RODDY RICCH
Singer, Roddy Ricch, who previously boasted of three Grammy nods now has a total of nine, thanks to his six nominations for the 2021 Grammys. His song, “Rockstar” competes for Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, and Best Melodic Performance.
In addition, “The Box” also excelled in three categories. They include Song of the Year, Best Rap Song, and Best Melodic Rap Performance.
5. BILLIE EILISH
Songstress, Billie Eilish earned nods in four categories in the upcoming Grammys. Three of these nominations, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Pop Solo Performance stemmed from her song, “Everything I Wanted.”
Also, she competes in the Song Written for Visual Media category, with her song, “No Time To Die, ” from the 2020 movie of the same title.
She is set to perform at Los Angeles’ Staples Center during the Grammys, along with Meghan Thee Stallion and DaBaby, who each have four Grammy nods as well.
6. POST MALONE
Also with three nods, Post Malone set the strides as a worthy contender in the three leading categories at the Grammys 2021.
His album, “Hollywood’s Bleeding” is up for Album of the Year Award, while “Circles” competes for Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
7. HARRY STYLES
Former One Direction member, Harry Styles achieved his first-ever Grammy nominations, with nods in three different categories.
For his song, “Watermelon Sugar,” the icon received a nod for Best Pop Solo Performance. “Adore You” made it to the Best Music Video category. Also breaking big was Styles’ 2020 album, “Fine Line,” which put him up for the Best Pop Vocal Album category.
8. JUSTIN BIEBER
Justin Bieber is one of the nominees for Best Pop Solo Performance (Yummy). Bieber is also in line for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category for “Intentions,” and the Best Pop Vocal Album for “Changes.”
9. BTS
K-pop sensation BTS also became first-time Grammy nominees this season, earning a nod in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the song, “Dynamite.”
OTHER NOMINEES TO LOOK OUT FOR
Some notable celebrities who also landed Grammy 2021 nominations include Chika, Noah Cyrus, and Ingrid Andress for Best New Artist, Lady Gaga for Best Pop Vocal Album (Chromatica), Pop Smoke for Best rap performance (Dior), and the trailblazing duo, Chloe x Halle, with nods in three categories among others.
