In December 2024, Gisèle Pélicot’s ex-husband, Dominique Pelicot, received a 20-year prison term on serial rape allegation. According to the court documents, Dominique drugged Gisèle on multiple occasions across a ten-year span, bringing several men to rape her in their French home.

Speaking with the BBC in January 2025, Darian stated that she is certain her father also drugged her in order to assault her sexually. According to Darian, her doubts began after her encounter with police showing her the pictures Dominique had taken of her while she was sleeping.
However, Darian revealed that she did not initially recognize herself in two photos she found on her father’s computer, a detail she mentioned in court.
