Gina Sasso came into the spotlight following her marriage with the deceased American actor Thomas Mikal Ford, also known as Tommy Ford. Tommy was famous for his many sitcom appearances. However, he is best known for his role as Thomas “Tommy” Strawn on the FOX sitcom “Martin,” which aired from 1992-1997.

Conversely, Gina is a businesswoman and entrepreneur who has made a name for herself. However, her marriage to the late actor propelled her to fame. Consequently, she is famous as actor Tommy Ford’s ex-wife.

1. Tommy Ford’s Ex-Wife Is From Jamaica

Although she has spent much of her life in America, Gina Sasso is originally from Jamaica. She was born on March 13, 1963, in Kingston, Jamaica. While the exact time she migrated from Jamaica to the United States is unknown, we can confirm she has lived there since her teenage years. 

Details regarding Gina’s upbringing and early life are unknown. However, she attended Miami Sunset High School. It is unknown if she attended college as there are no details regarding her college education.  

2. Gina Sasso Met Tommy Ford in 1996

Gina met the man who would later become her husband while she was on a business trip in 1996. At the time, the actor was popular in Hollywood thanks to his role as the titular character’s sidekick on the Fox sitcom “Martin.” The pair ran into each other in Los Angeles, and it was love at first sight.

One thing led to the other, and they started dating. Their romance progressed quickly, and everyone knew it was only a matter of time before the then-couple would exchange vows. To everyone’s satisfaction, they announced they were engaged in 1997, a year after they ran into each other.

Gina and Tommy had a dreamy wedding ceremony in 1997 at the Rio Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas with their friends and family in attendance. After which, they embarked on an equally dreamy honeymoon in Aruba.

3. Gina Sasso Was Tommy Ford’s Wife for 17 Years

Following their wedding ceremony, Gina and Tommy made their home in Los Angeles and Florida. They had a lovely marriage, and both had major career development while it lasted. Tommy went on to land several roles in movies and TV shows. Gina, on the other hand, became a successful businesswoman.

Unfortunately, the union wasn’t all smooth sailing for the couple. Their marriage came crashing down, and they announced their divorce in 2014. While there are no details regarding their divorce, reports hinted that it was due to infidelity. Tommy Ford reportedly had numerous affairs, leading to their marriage’s end.

4. Gina Sasso Is a Sports Agent

The late actor’s ex-wife runs her company, Prime Sports Marketing LLC. She represents professional athletes and helps them negotiate deals, contracts, etc. Like many business entrepreneurs, Gina has experienced highs and lows in her career. However, she kept at it and has represented some of the popular names in the sports circle.

Gina Sasso represented the fastest man alive, Usain Bolt, which impacted her career greatly. She revealed that she had been working with Usain Bolt since 2008, when he was barely known. The Jamaican athlete became a household name after his record-breaking performance in Beijing. As his agent, this shot Gina to the mainstream media as a sports agent.

5. Tommy Ford’s Wife, Gina Sasso, Sued Zion Williamson

While Tommy Ford’s wife has been successful throughout her career, she has also lost some good deals. This includes her contract with the-then college basketball star Zion Williamson. Gina Sasso signed a five-year contract with the basketball star. However, he ditched the contract immediately after he went pro. 

Zion signed with a new agency after he joined the New Orleans Pelicans of the NBA, leading to a lawsuit. Gina claimed the NBA star breached their five-year contract in 2019. However, Zion had initially filed a case in a North Carolina court to terminate his contract with Prime Sports Marketing LLC, which saw the judge ruling in his favor.

6. Gina Sasso Has Two Children

Although Tommy fathered two other children out of wedlock with his mistresses, Gina Sasso only has two. She welcomed two children with the late actor during their almost two decades of marriage together. 

Gina and Tommy welcomed their son, Thomas Ford Jr., the same year they tied the knot. Their bundle of joy arrived in 1997, and the couple couldn’t be happier. Three years after the birth of their son, they welcomed their second child and daughter, Madison Ford, in 2000.

7. She Announced Tommy Ford’s Death

Following their divorce in 2014, Gina and Tommy remained good friends and great co-parents to their children. Despite the rumors about Tommy’s infidelity, she didn’t blow their divorce out of proportion, and they remained cordial. 

Consequently, she was the first to update the public on Tommy’s health after he was rushed to the hospital in October 2016. Hence she was by his side when he passed away on October 12, 2016.  

Like Jessica Monty, Gina Sasso continues to work as an entrepreneur and lives in Miami, Florida. She enjoys a comfortable life with her children, with a net worth of $500,000-$1 million.
