After his exit from the legal drama series “Suits” in 2019, Gabriel Macht and his family relocated out of the country. However, following his relocation, Macht has always endeavored to keep his new location a secret, often refusing to disclose the precise location.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Macht opened up about his family’s relocation from the United States. Macht said, “I am based somewhere in Europe, but I don’t tell anybody where I live because I like to keep that under wraps. I got out of town, and we’re exploring the world.”
In 2023, following the record-breaking premiere of “Suits” on Netflix, Macht took to Instagram to share a post. Captioning his post, the actor wrote, “I am humbled that the stories we created and produced for 9 seasons have been watched and rewatched and will continue to create memories for all who enjoy the fruits of our labor.”
Since his departure from “Suits” in 2019, Macht has only appeared in the short-lived spin-off series “Pearson.” However, the actor has taken a break from acting, preferring to spend his time with his wife, Jacinda Barrett, and their two children, Satine and Luca.

Why Did Gabriel Macht and His Family Leave the US?
Following the conclusion of “Suits” in 2019, Gabriel Macht decided to take some time off acting to be with his family. Speaking with PEOPLE in an exclusive interview on January 27, 2025, Macht gave insight into his decision to relocate his family to Europe.
The “Suits” actor said, “Right before COVID, we wanted to take the kids out of school and homeschool them. But we were stranded, so we ended up in Manhattan. That was not doing it for us.” Macht stated that following their stay in Manhattan, his family needed a change, hence their decision to move.
He said, “We decided to explore the world, so we left. I grew up in L.A. and lived in New York for many, many years. Half of my life on the East Coast, half of my life on the West Coast.”

Gabriel Macht is currently married to Jacinda Barrett, an Australian-American actress and former model. Barrett was born August 2, 1972, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Growing up in Brisbane, Gabriel Macht’s wife was an active member of her high school’s theatrical department.
Shortly after her graduation, Barrett was introduced to the modeling world, where she began modeling in Europe at the age of 17. Her modeling career saw her visit Tokyo and Paris, where she worked as a runway and print model. Subsequently, in 1995, Gabriel Macht’s wife made her first television appearance as a cast member of MTV’s “The Real World: London.”

Over the course of her career, Barrett was cast in several movies, such as “The Human Stain” in 2003. In 2004, she appeared in “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” and “Ladder 49.” Barrett also appeared in “The Namesake,” “Poseidon,” and “The Last Kiss.”
Over the course of her acting, Barrett has been cast twice alongside her husband. In 2009, Barrett and Macht starred in the “Middle Men.” Subsequently, in 2012, Gabriel Macht’s wife appeared in “Suits,” playing Macht’s love interest till her departure in 2013.
Speaking about their introduction in an interview with Glamour, Macht stated that they met on a blind date in 2000. Macht said, “I picked three different restaurants, and she said yes to one of them. We closed down the place, and we’ve been together ever since.”
Subsequently, on December 29, 2004, Macht and Barrett got married in a private event. After three years of marriage, the couple welcomed their first child, Satine Anais Geraldine, on August 20, 2007. Subsequently, in February 2014, they welcomed their second child, a son named Luca.
What Is Gabriel Macht Up to Now?
Following his departure from acting, Gabriel Macht has been exploring new opportunities. He is currently a creative collaborator and executive stakeholder of Bear Fight Whiskey. Speaking with PEOPLE, Macht said, “I have done some commercial work as a brand ambassador, but I wanted to be a partner in a company that made sense.”

Referencing his “Suits” character, Macht said, “Harvey—he’s really a Macallan guy, but I’m not a Macallan guy. I’m a Bear Fight guy. I’m the guy that’s just looking for something that tastes great, that’s affordable and is approachable. And I said, If we’re going to do this, I really don’t want to make this about Harvey.”
Macht continued, “It’s not top shelf… It’s an everyman drink. I’m more of an everyman than I am Harvey.” Despite his recent endeavor and break, Macht is expected to make a comeback to television in the upcoming spinoff, “Suits LA.” Macht is currently living in Europe, although he has refused to disclose where.
