Who Was Fernando del Solar?
Fernando Martín Cacciamani Servidio, popularly known as Fernando del Solar, was an Argentine-Mexican television presenter, model, and actor. He was born on April 5, 1973, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Norberto Cacciamani, a merchant, and Rosa Lina Servidio, a housewife who only worked occasionally.
Fernando stood tall at 5ft 11 inches. He was a man of many interests as he graduated as an electronics technician in high school but also had a passion for acting and theater, thanks to a teacher at his high school. The actor also wanted to be a singer and even went on to form a musical group called “La Porra del Ritmo” (meaning The Rhythm Baton), but that only lasted for a short while.
The “Come Joy” star modeled briefly in Argentina, but it was hard for him to progress in his career. This led to him migrating to Mexico at the age of 22. He began working as a waiter and a computer salesperson while appearing as an extra in some TV commercials and movies.
Fernando had his breakthrough with TV Azteca, where he featured in some soap operas for the company. He went on to feature in several other movies in his lifetime.

In 2015, Fernando and his wife, Ingrid, separated and got a divorce some months after. Their divorce was due to their problems, the bad relationship that Coronado had with his family, and the illness he was battling.

Fernando del Solar Cancer and Death
Fernando del Solar passed away on July 30, 2022, due to complications from cancer. The actor first announced that an unknown tumor had been found in one of his lungs on July 16, 2012. This led to him leaving his job as host of the show Venga La Alegría (“Come Joy” in English).
The Spanish TV star later revealed that the tumor was lymphatic cancer (Hodgkin’s lymphoma), a cancer of the body’s lymphatic system that causes symptoms such as painless swelling of lymph nodes, itchy skin, and unexplained weight loss. He also struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts in his last days due to this illness and his divorce.
Fernando battled this cancer until he died in 2022, just months after marrying his second wife, Anna. He was 49 years old. He died in his home in Cuernavaca, Morelos, surrounded by his family.
Those close to the actor were grateful for the support they got after his death. Also, many of his followers online sent good wishes to his family on social media.
Looking back, Fernando was a great actor, an avid book reader, and a family man many didn’t know was skilled at playing the guitar. It was quite sad that his promising career, just like that of Minnie Riperton’s, was cut short by cancer.
