What Is Jocelyn Wildenstein Known For?
Jocelyn Wildenstein drew massive publicity herself during her earlier adult years with her lifestyle. Many who were entranced and entertained by her personality would greatly miss her. In her heydays, she was a common feature in New York tabloids for a number of controversial reasons.
First, she had an incredibly rocky and drama-filled love life involving a number of high-profile celebrities. She got involved with multiple men and bagged massive divorce settlements through some favorable court judgments, too.
In addition, Jocelyn Wildenstein courted public admiration and even concern with her ever-changing looks. Jocelyn Wildenstein did everything she could to acquire looks similar to those of a cat. For example, she shocked the public when she underwent cosmetic procedures to get cat eyes. She, however, brushed off concern about the eyes by claiming that those kinds of eyes were a family trait.
Jocelyn also spent lavishly. She invested massively in bringing her fantasies to reality. Her love for cats, specifically African big cats, led her to splash loads of funds for wildlife enclosures. For example, she made a bulletproof barrier for two tigers in her Ol Jogi ranch in Kenya, which she inherited from a failed marriage.
Her love for wildlife and cats especially began in her youth in Lausanne, Switzerland. There, she usually swam in lakes and surveyed the mountains. During these adventures and with her father’s influence, she began to take an interest in African mammals.
Why Did Jocelyn Wildenstein Have So Much Surgery?
Jocelyn Wildenstein’s cosmetic-loving side emerged after she left Lausanne for Paris and then New York. Her love for cats inspired them. She underwent multiple cosmetic surgeries at the time, especially on her face. Her most popular facial alteration was the eye lift she had alongside her then-husband Alec Wildenstein.
However, She denied having surgery to change the shape of her eyes for years. Unsatisfied by the cat eye look, she decided to have a procedure to slant the outer corners of her eyes upwards. The cat-resembling procedure also pushed her cheeks upwards, eliminating wrinkles well into her old age.
The answer to the question, “Why did Jocelyn Wildenstein get surgery?” largely remained a mystery. Many people believe that the answer goes beyond her love for animals. Other puzzling aspects of her life include her age and how she spent her massive fortune.
Talking about her age, her exact date of birth is still a subject of controversy. Although a large section of media has placed her age at 84, others, including people close to her, such as Klein, insist that she was 79 at the time she passed on.

Who Was Jocelyn Wildenstein Married To?
Jocelyn Wildenstein moved to Kenya in 1977, where she met Alec Wildenstein. Alec owned the Ol Jogi ranch, further influencing Jocelyn’s love for nature. Alec let Jocelyn manage the Ol Jogi alongside other ventures, such as a Caribbean resort and apartments in Paris.
But the blissful partnership, which produced two children, didn’t last too long. In the 90s, cracks began to emerge in Jocelyn Wildenstein’s marriage. She filed for divorce in April 1977 after Alec allegedly cheated on her. It was during the divorce proceedings that people began to notice her fascinating cat look.
She emerged from the divorce case with an award of $2.5 billion in settlement. But she squandered the fortune on clothing, art, jewelry, and others and afterward ended up in debt. After her divorce from Alec N. Wildenstein, she began a relationship with Klein.
Although they’ve made moves to tie the knot, they haven’t been able to go beyond engagement. That’s because their relationship has been plagued with major disagreements, too. For example, Jocelyn was arrested in 2016 for cutting Klein’s face with a pair of scissors.
The cops also nabbed Klein a few days later after he allegedly attempted to gain entrance into Jocelyn’s apartment to take his things. But the dust settled, and Klein reconciled with Jocelyn, whose net worth is estimated to be $1 million.
