Former Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas slammed former President Donald Trump and his associates for pushing “false” allegations against Biden. Parnas was one of the three witnesses who testified before the Republican-led panel during the House Oversight Committee’s impeachment hearing on President Joe Biden.
During the hearing on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, Parnas revealed unflattering information on Trump’s disgraced ex-personal lawyer, Rudolph “Rudy” Giuliani. The Ukrainian-American businessman told the panel that he was a “key participant” in a scheme to dig up dirt on Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.
According to Parnas, the scheme occurred in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election. Furthermore, he stated that Giuliani “tasked” him with “finding dirt on the Bidens.” He added, “So that an array of networks could spread misinformation about them.”
The businessman said the scheme was to “damage the Bidens’ reputations and secure the 2020 election for Trump.” At the hearing, Parnas, who admitted to being on supervised release after serving prison time, debunked the allegations against Biden.

Furthermore, he told the panel that the allegations being peddled by the Republican majority were false. “The American people have been lied to,” Parnas said in his opening statement. “By Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, and various cohorts of individuals in government and media positions.”
He added, “They created falsehoods to serve their own interests, knowing it would undermine the strength of our nation.” During his testimony, Parnas maintained that there was no evidence of Biden family corruption involving Ukraine.
Furthermore, he noted that the baseless accusations against the president came from the Russian government. “The only information ever pushed on the Bidens and Ukraine has come from one source and one source only: Russia and Russian agents,” he said.

Parnas added that the impeachment proceedings against Biden were based on “false information spread by the Kremlin.” He also pointed out that the information has no basis. “Throughout this entire situation,” the Ukrainian-American businessman noted.
“No credible source has ever provided proof of Joe or Hunter Biden’s alleged corruption in Ukraine.” He added, “No respectable Ukrainian official has ever said that the Bidens did anything illegal.” Parnas cited the recent indictment of former FBI informant Alexander Smirnov, who allegedly provided false intelligence about the Bidens.
Throughout his testimony, Parnas insisted Giuliani understood the origins of the false information on Biden and his son. He claimed that he warned Giuliani about the lack of credibility of those sources of information. Although Giuliani agreed with his take, Parnas said the former Trump lawyer continued to work with them.

The Ukrainian-American businessman compared his time working with Giuliani and others on behalf of Trump to being in a “cult.” Also, he described his arrest for wire fraud and campaign finance violations as a wake-up call.
Parnas’ attorney, Joe Bondy, said in a statement that federal prosecutors ignored his client’s offer to meet. Bondy claimed Parnas was prepared to provide them with information about Trump and his private counsel.
“We reached out to former U.S. Attorney Scott Brady’s Office to proffer information, with no reply at all, Bondy said. He added, “Had anyone let Lev speak back then, perhaps America would have been in a vastly different place today.”
