On Thursday, March 20, in her second-ever published interview with Teen Vogue, US billionaire Elon Musk’s trans daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, lambasted her estranged father. Wilson, who happens to be one of Elon Musk’s kids with his ex-wife Justine Wilson, didn’t mince words when she called him “a pathetic man-child.”
It is known that Elon Musk has several children with multiple partners, but what many do not know is who they actually are. The Tesla boss and now prominent player in the Trump administration has primarily kept his children out of the spotlight, but one in particular, Vivian Wilson, has made her presence and her complicated relationship with her famous father quite public.
So, who is Vivian Wilson? Vivian is Elon Musk’s 20-year-old oldest daughter, who has a twin named Griffin. She is a college student studying languages in Tokyo. In 2020, she came out as transgender, and two years later, in 2022, Wilson changed her name and gender legally in a California court.
She filed in court that “she doesn’t wish to be related to her biological father, Elon Musk, in any way, shape, or form” as her reason and instead chose to use her mother’s maiden name, Justine Wilson.

In more details in the interview with Teen Vogue, while opening up about life as a young transgender woman, Wilson was asked if she ever felt scared of her father. She responded, “He’s a pathetic man-child. Why would I feel scared of him? Oh, he has so much power. Nah, nah, nah. I don’t give a f**k or how much money anyone has. I don’t. He owns Twitter. Okay. Congratulations.”
She went on and said, “People thrive off of fear. I’m not giving anyone that space in my mind; the only thing that gets to live free in my mind are drag queens,” she finished. She also talked about Musk’s involvement in politics and his constant appearances with President Donald Trump.
“I’ll see things about him in the news and think, ‘That’s f**king cringe; I should probably post about this and denounce it,’ which I have done a few times,” she admitted. She went on to say, “It’s annoying that people associate me with him. I just don’t have any room to care anymore.”

Wilson explained that she is not in touch with that side of her family, nor is her mom. She goes on to say that she does “not keep up” with her half-siblings, whom her father shares with multiple women. This is also likely the reason Wilson confesses that she “does not actually know” how many siblings she has.
What Led to the Estrangement Between Elon Musk and His Daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson?
The father-daughter bond soured, especially after Wilson legally changed her name and distanced herself from the billionaire CEO in 2022. Then, two years later, in 2024, which happened to be nine days after Musk officially endorsed President Trump’s campaign, he spoke about her in a live-streamed interview on X with Manosphere influencer Jordan Peterson, saying he didn’t support Wilson’s gender identity.
He said figuratively that she was “dead, killed by the woke-mind virus.” In a post on X, he shared that Wilson was “born gay and slightly autistic.” Which he said are traits that contribute to gender dysphoria. He added that as a child, she would “pick out clothes for me to wear like a jacket and tell me it was ‘fabulous!’”
Musk further alleged that he had been “tricked” into authorizing trans-related medical treatment for Wilson when she was 16. He also called gender-reassignment surgery “child mutilation and sterilization. “I was essentially tricked into signing documents for one of my older boys,” Musk mentioned.
Elon Musk’s Daughter Criticism
After Elon Musk’s conversation with Jordan Peterson, Vivian Wilson spoke up for the first time. In a series of posts on Thread, she described Musk’s characterization of her in an X post as “entirely fake,” said he was “desperate for attention and validation,” and told him to touch grass.
Later, in July 2024, Wilson gave her first interview with NBC News, sharing part of her story. She said Elon Musk was “an absent father who mistreated her as a child because she was queer and feminine.”
According to her, when she was a child, Musk would harass her for exhibiting feminine traits and try to make her sound more male, even pressuring her to deepen her voice as early as elementary school.
Wilson went on to address her father’s remarks about her and her transgender identity. She said that Musk wasn’t tricked into signing those documents, as he claims, and that when she gave him the medical forms, he read them at least twice, once with her and then again by himself, before he signed them. “He was not by any means tricked. He knew the full side effects,” she said.
