Ellen DeGeneres is being more open about her health by publicly disclosing her diagnoses of osteoporosis, OCD, and ADHD. In her final Netflix special, “For Your Approval,” Ellen DeGeneres discussed the various health issues she’s had as she’s gotten older.
The comedian, 66, stated that she has “full-on osteoporosis,” which she found after undergoing a bone density test. The National Institutes of Health defines osteoporosis as a disease that weakens bones and leads them to shatter easily. It affects around one in every five women over the age of fifty.
DeGeneres also revealed that while in therapy, which she began after toxic workplace charges against her harmed her mental health, she discovered she has OCD. In the special, the comedian revealed that she also deals with attention deficit disorder.
ADD is now considered an outmoded term for what specialists now refer to as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD.
