Many designers have experienced sell-out situations, and more often than not, they owe it to celebrities whose fans spotted their fashion pieces. 

It is safe to say that once one is certified as a celebrity, the influencer effect comes effortlessly. And this is obvious in several stars who have had things going viral without even trying.

One sphere where such off-the-charts situations arise in fashion. It is not uncommon to have a celebrity rock an outfit, and fans have cleared it off shopping racks in a short period. Here’s a list of stars who have such an effect. 

Molly Mae Hague

The “Love Island” Star got her slew of fans in a frenzy after she appeared on Instagram, rocking a yellow floor-length dress in 2019. The outfit bore a cut-out around the cleavage and a sleeveless bodice. The dress sold out in under ten minutes at the time. 

Kylie Jenner 

Jenner proved to be the A-list influencer in 2016 when she rocked a Pretty Little Thing Design that had fans copping their before it went off racks completely. Jenner donned an orange piece from the design that had a lopsided hem and thigh-high slit. The fashion pieces sold out in 24 hours. 

Sandra Bullock

In 2010, the “Speed” star stepped out rocking a black and blue floor-length dress with a short train during the SAG Award. The elegant outfit bore a keyhole design around the cleavage area, while Bullock paired with a blue and gold purse. The evening dress sold out in 24 hours.

Heidi Klum

The star model, who has spanned many years of experience in the fashion industry, decided to launch her own jewelry line. After Klum debuted the fashion collection in 2006, it sold out in under 36 minutes.

Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung had quite a similar effect to Klum when she collaborated with Madewell on the second line of her designs. Shoppers trooped to the shopping website, which crashed from too much Internet traffic.  

Kim Kardashian

Kim’s celebrity status has since extended beyond the reality sphere, covering law and justice, fashion, beauty standards, and self-care. Her 2020 SKIMS collection hit a milestone after Kardashian modeled it. The shapewear pieces sold out in less than a minute.  

Kate Middleton

The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in 2010, rocking a 385 navy blue Issa wrap dress when she and Prince William announced their engagement. There have been other times when Middleton’s look proved to be a statement maker. Her LK Bennett dress from 2019 sold out twice in two consecutive years. 

Meghan Markle

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their engagement in 2017, it came in grand style. Markle rocked a white knee-length Line the Label coat, and fashion lovers wasted no time crashing the website in search of the outfit.
