Donald Glover has called off the remainder of Childish Gambino’s North American and European tour. The rapper, actor, and creator of “Atlanta” said on Friday, October 4, that he recently discovered a condition that necessitated surgery.
After his New Orleans gig on September 7, he went to a hospital for tests and canceled a show in Houston the next night. In a note to X, he declined to speak on the state of his health.
Childish Gambino’s “The New World Tour” marks his first tour since 2019. The tour began on August 11 in Oklahoma City and was scheduled to visit many major North American cities before expanding to Europe, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia in early 2025.
The cancellation affects more than 30 scheduled dates in North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe. However, the “This Is America” rapper said tickets would be refunded.
Glover noted that his route to rehabilitation was something he needed to take seriously and that he needed time to heal. He stated a desire to bring the performance to fans and perform but asked for love, privacy, and support in the meantime.
