A 32-year-old Chicago man, Nikko D’Ambrosio, is suing dozens of women for $75 million after they posted negative reviews about him on a Facebook page. According to the lawsuit, the women described him as “very clingy” on the “Are We Dating The Same Guy” Facebook page.

Hence, D’Ambrosio claims a woman sullied his reputation after sharing his name and photo in the Facebook group’s Chicago edition. He filed the lawsuit in the Northern District of Illinois, claiming the post sparked defamatory comments about him. Also, D’Ambrosio said the women subjected him to defamation, doxing, and invasion of privacy.

The private Facebook group originated in the Big Apple and is part of a wider network of pages. As a result, women regularly share information about negative dating encounters they’ve had in their respective cities. Also, they ask other group members for dating advice and “red flags.”

Consequently, the page describes itself as a community of “Red Flag Awareness” groups where women empower each other. They also keep each other safe from “toxic men.” However, the lawsuit claims the page has subgroups that allow users to attack the character of men they’ve met online.

Furthermore, the filing says D’Ambrosio met the woman who made the original post at an event in Chicago in 2023. The suit claims they had consensual sex that same night. Afterward, the two went on a handful of “unremarkable” dates, according to D’Ambrosio. However, they “never engaged in an exclusive dating relationship.”

Following their “unremarkable” encounter, the woman allegedly took to Facebook to spew lies about D’Ambrosio. She said he got “clingy very fast” and flaunted his money. Also, she claimed D’Ambrosio “Kept talking about how I don’t want to see his bad side, especially when he was on business calls.”

More so, the woman allegedly published a photo of D’Ambrosio. Hence, several women commented on the post, claiming to have had similar experiences with him. “I went out with him a few times over a year ago,” one commenter wrote. “He told me what I wanted to hear until I split with him, and then he ghosted… I’d steer clear.”

“He’s been posted here before,” another user commented, adding, “The poster said he sent her texts calling her names because she didn’t want to spend the night with him.” D’Ambrosio alleges the woman initially shared the post under her real name. However, she deleted and reposted anonymously after his lawyers made contact.

In his complaint, D’Ambrosio said the defendants made false and defamatory statements about their experiences dating him. “The defendants broadcast their outrageous, cruel, and malicious lies about the plaintiff,” the complaint states. “With knowledge that the statements were false or with reckless disregard as to whether or not they were true.”

In addition, he claims the posts led to “Personal humiliation, mental anguish and suffering, emotional distress, stress, anxiety, and lost earnings.” Hence, D’Ambrosio’s lawsuit targets 27 named women, including moderators of the group and several Jane Does. Also, it includes various parts of Facebook’s parent company, Meta.
