Cardi B is going to be a mom again!
On Thursday, August 1, the 31-year-old rapper announced on Instagram that she was expecting her third child. “Every ending gives rise to a fresh start! You have given me more love, more life, and most importantly, renewed power, and for that, I am incredibly thankful that we got to spend this season together.”
With a couple of pictures of herself showing off her stomach, Cardi stated in her description, “It served as a reminder that I can have it all! You’ve served as a reminder that I never have to pick between my passion, love, or life. I am incredibly in love with you and am eager for you to see what you have pushed and helped me achieve.”
Cardi B Announces Her Third Pregnancy
“It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns, and tests lying down, but you, your brother, and your sister have shown me why it’s worth pushing through!” Cardi B wrote in her post. The pregnancy announcement shook fans, especially as it came the day after the rapper filed for divorce from her husband of six years, Offset.
“It’s not based on cheating rumors but rather has been a long time coming,” a spokesperson for the rapper stated. According to reports, Cardi B, 31, is requesting primary custody of their two children, Wave Set, 2, and Kulture Kiari, 6. At the time of publication, the divorce file was not publicly accessible.

Notably, Offset has three kids from previous relationships: Jordan, 14, and Kody, 8, as well as a daughter, Kalea Marie, 9. In December 2023, Cardi revealed in an Instagram Live that she was single but was unsure of how to deliver the news.
The rapper declared, “I’ve been single for a minute now. However, I’ve been terrified, not scared; I just don’t know how to let people know.”
Cardi B Discusses Breakup With Offset
Cardi B revealed that she had been hinting about the breakup by unfollowing Offset and sharing mysterious posts on her story. “I don’t know if you guys have been getting clues from me, from my Lives, or my Stories, when I put some certain music or find my unfollowings,” she said.
In December 2023, Cardi B and the Migos singer celebrated New Year’s Eve together. In March, Offset directed her music video for “Like What (Freestyle).” They went to a Knicks game together in May; in an interview with Rolling Stone that same month, Cardi B stated that the two were “all right now.”

At that moment, she remarked, “Because we do love each other, but it goes beyond love. Our friendship is the best.”
The Rapper On Balancing Parenting With Career
In another section of the conversation with Rolling Stone, Cardi B candidly discussed how she’s been juggling parenthood with completing her upcoming album. The pleased mother acknowledged that she had been depending on her parents for help.
She also revealed that she was attempting to find a nanny but was concerned about placing too much pressure on them. The mother of two said, “I had them kids.” “They weren’t my mother’s; they came out of my. They take mines.”
Cardi acknowledged that her husband was pitching in when he could after returning from tour, but she still felt overburdened. “My children come first. My children come first in my life,” she said. It’s clear the rapper is prepared for the new addition to her family!
When Did Cardi B File for the First Divorce?
Since their September 2017 marriage, Cardi B and Offset have had an intermittent relationship, frequently because of his claimed infidelity. Following their 2018 breakup announcement, Cardi B filed for divorce. In September 2020, after they had reconciled, they withdrew their divorce petition.

Cardi B discussed the turbulent romance between the couple in an interview with ELLE in 2020, stating, “I do know that my relationship has a lot of drama and everything.” “However, there is a great deal of trust, a great deal of passion, a great deal of love, and a great deal of friendship. It’s always us against the world,” she added.
