Black Pink stars Rosé and CL were two of the Met Gala guests who attended for the first time. The girls became the first female K-pop stars to attend the ball, considered to be one of the most significant fashion events.
The Met Gala returned with a redefined outlook following its one-year hiatus. With its return, there was a surge of attendance from new generation entertainers and socialites.
Among this year’s guests, two members of the K-pop girl group, Black Pink, made honorable appearances. Rosé and CL attended the event as new faces and as the first K-pop female artist at the ball.
The Girls Were Stunning
Rosé graced the event and was the global ambassador for Saint Laurent; she rocked the brand’s timeless look. The singer rocked a black and white dress with a large bow at the front.
She accentuated the look with a large choker that matched her floral-shaped drop earrings. Rosé posed alongside the Saint Laurent creative director, Anthony Vaccarello.
CL rocked the American Independence look in a floor-length denim dress inspired by the traditional Korean outfit known as the hanbok. The Black Pink rapper left the outfit unbuttoned to reveal her scantily-clad body.
Cl and Rosé are the first female K-pop stars to walk the Met Gala Ball red carpet, but there have been other male K-pop stars who have graced the event in the past.
These include musicians like Psy, Exo member Lay, and Rain. Psy was a guest at the charity ball in 2013, while Rain and Lay attended in 2015 and 2019, respectively.
