Andrew Cuomo’s “ex-wife” Sandra Lee, recently learned that when you conclude your relationship with a person, especially a high-profile individual, many of the benefits you used to enjoy are lost to you.
The TV chef reportedly caused quite the scene at Eataly NYC Downtown late Thursday afternoon, and there were eyewitnesses. According to them, Lee — who dated former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for almost two decades — seemed frazzled and disturbed as she shopped alone.
However, things did not get out of hand until she went to check out the items she bought and was attended to by a cashier who made a mistake. The cashier, while ringing up Lee’s items, had accidentally hit void and had to start over, which “sent Sandra into a frenzy,” according to the witnesses.
As a result, Lee allegedly got “pushy” and “aggressive,” yelling about how she was “very important” and “in a hurry.” “Do you know who I am? I’m Andrew Cuomo’s EX-WIFE!” she reportedly shouted before she “tore her sunglasses off” and added, “Girl, I’m Sandra Lee!”

Lee’s Attorney Has Denied the Incident Happened
Despite the eyewitness accounts, Lee’s attorney has vehemently denied the alleged incident, insisting it “never took place” and that “in no world” is Lee “ever referencing that she was married to the disgraced governor.”
However, according to reports, Lee felt “self-important” and “wanted everyone to know who she was.” About “20 people” reportedly witnessed the commotion and saw Lee, 58, spend more time demanding to speak to the manager than it took for the cashier to re-ring the items.
“Do you know who I am? I’m Andrew Cuomo’s EX-WIFE!” she reportedly shouted. It sounded like she wanted special treatment even though she was never even married to him in the first place. It is true they dated, but according to reports, Lee and Cuomo, 67, parted ways in September 2019. She is now engaged to actor Ben Youcef, but apparently, she didn’t think to utter his name instead.
Lee eventually had her way as a manager was ultimately summoned. However, during her chat with the manager, she reportedly “went crazy,” raising her arms as she aired her grievances. The cookbook author “eventually apologized” to one employee, apologizing and explaining that she had just flown in from Los Angeles, where her “house almost burned down” in the ongoing wildfires.

As his partner, she served as the de facto first lady of New York from 2011 to 2019. While it has been established that the pair were together, they were never married, so she can’t be his ex-wife, as she claimed.
A woman Cuomo actually married was Kerry Kennedy from the Kennedy dynasty. The marriage lasted a long time, too, beginning in 1990 before ending in a divorce in 2005.

Andrew Cuomo’s marriage to Kerry Kennedy ended because of tensions that grew between them as Cuomo got engrossed with his work. On the other hand, his already-ailing relationship with Sandra Lee ended because of a comment he allegedly made to her in the spring of 2019.
“I was in my kitchen,” she said. “And he said something, and the minute he said it, I knew what he’d just said. And every window and door closed.” The TV chef has refused to share more details about the remark, simply saying, “He knows what it is; I know what it is.” However, Cuomo has said he did not see Lee during that time.
The pair announced their breakup after 14 years via a joint statement in September 2019. Lee would later admit that she and the disgraced ex-New York governor had their fair share of issues long before they formally parted ways.
