Amber Heard welcomes twins via surrogacy. Who’s the father of her children? Amber’s fertility struggles and her choice to become a single mom. Mother’s Day is extra special this year for Amber Heard as she welcomes fraternal twins, a boy and a girl. The twin babies are her second and third children, making her a mom of three. She revealed this surprising news in a heartfelt Instagram post on Sunday, May 11.
The news of Heard expecting her second child first surfaced in December 2024, when a spokesperson confirmed the pregnancy to People magazine with a statement, “It is still quite early in the pregnancy, so you will appreciate that we do not want to go into much detail at this stage.” The spokesperson said, “Suffice to say that Amber is delighted both for herself and Oonagh Paige.”
Heard, 38, is already mom to her daughter Oonagh Paige, who turned 4 years old in April. Oonagh is Amber Heard’s first child and was reportedly born via surrogacy on April 8, 2021.
However, at the time, a source close to the Aquaman actor had revealed to Page Six, “Oonagh is absolutely gorgeous, and Amber is besotted. She always knew that she wanted to be a mom, and this is her greatest wish come true. She’s so grateful to the wonderful woman who helped bring Oonagh into her life.”
Did Amber Heard Give Birth to Twins?
Amber Heard may not have birthed her children, as she’s been open about her fertility challenges and her struggles to bear children. However, she has welcomed two new members into her growing family. In recent news, the actress welcomes her twins, daughter Agnes and son Ocean, via surrogacy four years after having her first child.
The arrival of the twins marks a powerful new chapter in Heard’s journey as a single mom. Heard first shared the news of the twins’ arrival on Instagram on Mother’s Day. The post featured an adorable close-up shot of her children’s feet as they sat side by side. “Mother’s Day 2025 will be one I’ll never forget,” she wrote. “This year I am elated beyond words to celebrate the completion of the family I’ve strived to build for years.” She wrote in part expressing gratitude and emotion.

Amber Heard on Embracing Motherhood Her Way
Amber Heard first became a mother in 2021 after the birth of her daughter Oonagh Paige, and now she celebrates life as a mom of three. When she first announced the birth of Oonagh, in a message on Instagram in 2021, she wrote at the time.
“Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms. I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way.” She said, “I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib.”
Heard has been open about facing fertility challenges and her choice to be a single mom. In her announcement about the twins, she reflected on how Oonagh changed her life. “When I had my first baby girl, Oonagh, four years ago, my world changed forever. I thought I couldn’t possibly burst with more joy. Well, now I am bursting times three!!! Becoming a mother by myself and on my own terms despite my own fertility challenges has been the most humbling experience of my life,” she wrote, signing the message with “A x.”
As Heard’s newest additions, Ocean and Agnes, join 4-year-old Oonagh in what she describes as “her dream family,” Amber couldn’t be happier. Though she keeps much of her family life out of the spotlight, her social media posts regularly reflect her pride in creating her own version of family.
